In 24 hours of having this on, it collected like an inch of water in the reservoir already (and I had another dehumidifier running before I turned it off and started this one). I'm pretty impressed with it so far--simple and easy to use and it works good.There's 3 flat "buttons" on the top. The first is power. The second switches between solid light or cycling through the rainbow of colors. The last is a moon that means night mode, which just turns off the light basically.. but it is handy for keeping my bedroom as pitch black as possible at night.Overall, it's a sleek design. The reservoir is rectangle which is easy to empty into a houseplant. Some others I've had had weird moon or odd shaped reservoirs resulting in me spilling the water many times while trying to dump it into a plant. I'd say this is a good buy.

***SEE BOTTOM FOR UPDATE***I live in a pretty humid environment.Even with AC running constantly, it's difficult to get my indoor relative humidity below 55%.I do filament 3D printing where the storage of the materials and the operation of the process can be sensitive to humidity so where i do that, I try to keep humidity levels as low as possible - lower than I really need for the rest of my home.For the small space, small dehumidifiers like this usually work well. The only problem is, they tend to stop working after 12-16 months of continuous use.In my experience, these types of humidifiers tend to fall into two different categories - utility where function far outweighs form and decorative, where the ability for it to look nice in the environment outweighs effectiveness or ease of normal operation when it comes to things like emptying the water.This one looked like it might have threaded that needle but unfortunately, that didn't end up being the case.While the rectangular design, allowing for easy removal of the water collection area made this feel more like the ugly units, the design choices with it and having the optional mood lighting made it feel more like something that wouldn't look awful in a bathroom or living room.It certainly does look nice but it just doesn't collect as much humidity as I was looking for. After the first 24 hours by the printers, it hadn't collected much so I moved it to one of my bathrooms to see how it would work in one of the most humid places in my home.After five days, it had collected a noticeable amount of water but nothing like I was accustomed to with a more traditional dehumidifier (see attached image).Additionally, it offers a quiet mode that made almost no noticeable difference in fan sound but introduced a new high pitched sound. That might have just been my unit and this isn't a setting I'd normally used but I found it a little annoying.In the end, I'd say if you're looking for a lighter usage and appearance is important, this might be a good choice but if you're looking to make a real dent in humidity levels in a small area, this might not be worth the power consumption.***UPDATE***A little more than two weeks in, it seems to be doing a little bit better at collecting moisture. I don't know if there was some sort of break-in period or what. It's still not quite as strong as I was hopeful for and other things like the low noise not really being low noise are still issues but I'm bumping it up a star because it has started to preform a little better.

Doesn’t work well. Basically a waste of electricity.

I got this dehumidifier for my parents who has a basement where they do a lot of ordinary chores like laundry and a small work space because it stays cool during summer. And this small compact machine was a good addition for the space and hopefully it will keep mold or other problem that could cause for the items they keep in the basement.The unit itself turns off when the collection container is full. Once they noticed the fan was blowing hot air and it changed the color to let them to check to see water the level. They found that it's very easy to empty the collected water in the container.

I am using this for a fairly small space, and it's been great. I cannot speak of how well it would work in a larger area.I am sleeping and feeling better overall. I have to empty the water tank, so I know it is doing something.Overall, I am extremely happy, and this has been working very well for me.

I will preface this by saying I am 100% confident that the room I'm using this in is too large *however* it has still done a fantastic job. It runs so quietly, sort of a gentle white noise but not enough to bother you if you're someone who doesn't like background noise.It's very easy to set up and empty and the light is a neat little feature. I do notice the plug getting warm, like other reviewers have mentioned, but so far I haven't had any issues with overheating/shorting.Its worth mentioning that the box was marked as the unit being black, but the unit I actually received was white- not a big deal but do just make sure to inspect it and make sure the color is right.

The media could not be loaded.  I can't imagine this is what other people have received (quite obvious after viewing other review videos). This thing is loud, regardless of the speed it's set on. I think I received one with a shot motor, because it sounds awful. Kiumo wants phone calls, videos (via a communication tool that doesn't allow more than 10mb files) to apparently prove I'm telling the truth. More time than I have, or desire to spend on a $40 dehumidifier. Requesting a refund. I will acquire from a different manufacturer.

I liked the size of this dehumidifier and it's not too super quiet but it's not too loud either. The auto shut off is a nice feature as well since I work away from the home. I live in the deep south, and it is always so humid here, so I thought this would be something that I needed in my home. I had read the previous reviews, and some people said it collected a lot of moisture from the air and others said not so much. The moisture collected by this dehumidifier in my house fell into the small amount group. I do have a newer house, so it is possible that my home is well insulated and that is what is keeping the humidity out and possibly I didn't need a dehumidifier after all.
