I just received my umbrella and put it to test by holding it up against a large window where the sun was directly glaring into it. I opened it up and placed the umbrella fabric a few inches away from the glass. I was pleasantly surprised to see that no sun came through the fabric. I then held it up to the window where half the umbrella was in direct sunlight and the other half protected by the adjoining wall. There was absolutely no difference. I couldn't see any light coming through on either half.The instructions are on the hang tag attached to the handle. I like that the umbrella closes up by pushing the button in the same way one presses it to open it up. The only difference is that you have to the push the stem down towards the handle to latch it closed. It was easy enough to do and better than the complete manual process of less quality ones I have owned in the past. Once it latched, I gently pulled out the folds and was able to return it to the same neat way it arrived with the attached velcro strap.The sleeve is nice in that the closed umbrella slides easily into it and fits nicely. No skimping on the fabric and struggling to get it back in like another one I used own. The only improvement I would make might be a snap to keep the sleeve in place, but that isn't a deal breaker by any means. Highly recommend.All in all, this is a product I would highly recommend to anyone wanting to protect themselves from the sun during this record breaking summer heat. I will be buying another one of the same in different colors to share with family.

I was looking for a compact UV umbrella to replace one I bought abroad and loved but subsequently lost. This one is perfect. It is small, light, and could fit in a large front shorts pocket sticking out a bit.It is made for one person. So if you’re looking for an umbrella that covers more than just yourself, move on. I’ve used it daily for my walks in the islands and it is sturdy and provides UV shade from the sun, which cuts the heat you would feel without it. So at minimum it provides a couple degrees cooler temps under it, if not more.It is not for use in windy weather. It will flip inside out. So don’t plan on using it in windy locations/circumstances. One positive, though, when it flips inside out from wind or otherwise, you just press the open/close button and it collapses itself back to its “ready to close” position. This possibly takes the pressure off from needing to force flip it right side up over and over again, which is good.It would keep the rain off your head but that’s about it. But again, I bought it to keep me cool during my daily walks in hot sunny conditions. I use it on cloudy days as well, to keep the UV rays off me.In all, it’s perfect to use on sunny days for walks to cut the heat. It would help in a sudden downpour or steady light drizzle to keep your head dry. If you’re looking for an umbrella for the same reasons as me, this is the one. I will update my review if the umbrella breaks or deteriorates significantly.

I got this to use through my local heat wave and for standing in line at San Diego Comic Con. I’ve only had it about a month but I’m enjoying it a lot so far. It makes everything feel about 10 degrees cooler underneath it, and it works in the rain too. It’s also very light and easy to carry around. I saw in some other reviews that the folding mechanism breaks after a while - I haven’t had that issue so far but I’ll update this review if I do.

I purchased this umbrella for my families trip to Disney World June 22-27(Hot)!!Pros: the umbrella is lightweight and small enough to through in a suitcase and carry around in a backpack.It is has an electric open and close button which makes it easier for kiddos (8yo).The umbrella did offer shade while walking around which cooled you down.Cons: Not very sturdy, so when the wind started to blow we had to close it so that it wouldn’t flip.The umbrella is small so for an adult using it you will not receive much coverage from the Sun. It was perfect for my 8yo to walk around with.I plan on keeping it for herI hope this review helps!

We took this to Egypt in the summer. Many of the sites are in desert areas with little to no shade. Other people had regular umbrellas and the sun was still pouring through. This one blocked the sun so well it was like standing under a shade tree. It was durable - once blew inside out and with just a push resumed it's umbrella shape. One of our guides stood under it with me and copied the brand information to buy for using on tours. Worth every penny we spent

I used this in the 110+ degree weather in Arizona and New Mexico. It felt like the heat was being reflected instead of absorbed as it would be when using a normal umbrella. It is small allowing for easy carry by hand or in a sling bag. The build seems good during the summer heat but, it might not be sturdy enough when it gets very windy and rains hard. I will be purchasing another though when they are back in stock.

VERY HARD to CLOSE!!!.. but opens up easy.Tested it in the sun, and could feel the heat coming thru….This umbrella is frequently returned! … Returning mine.

Keeps the sun away and the cool thing, I can look at the sun from underneath the umbrella as if I'm wearing sunglasses. Keeps me cool while underneath.
