In theory yes. just unplug the unit first, of course. And have some painters blue tape so you can mark each plug that is unpluged. with the ge unit there were three switches, but the cord of each can be plug into any of the plugs, so i had to mark the top on 'top', the middle 'middle' and the bottom 'bottom. yes as take plenty of pictures as you progress. it took me about two hours--but i am not very handy. good luck
