Q: Can you use the dual battery sled attachment while the mix is in this bag?

Yes and no You really can’t use batteries bigger than 550’s with this bag and also with the Orca 27 same thing

Q: Why does this cost as much as some of the recorders it holds? Is a recorder included?

This is made for the sound device mix pre field recorder.

Q: How do you access the bottom without removing it??

The front flap actually wraps around so that when you detach it from the velcro, it unrolls to access the bottom of the recorder. All sides of the recorder are accessible with this bag. I'm currently using it with a Tuscan DR-70D and it's slightly larger than that unit so I have a small extra piece of velcro padding on the inside to take up the extra space. This is a well designed, well constructed bag.
