The media could not be loaded. I bought a red set and a green set. Each set comes with a train engine, coal car (battery pack) and two passenger cars. With two sets I used 4 passenger cars and have a spare coal car battery pack and a spare train engine. I have not tried the steam function yet but I really don't need it but it's a nice addition. The engine is heavy and made of metal but the coal and passenger cars are plastic. Each passenger car has an individual switch for lights. The coal car must be charged with a USB adapter cable (included) and a USB plug in charger (not included). When plugged into a USB wall charger a red light comes on in the charge port plug to indicate charging and it goes out when fully charged. There are batteries already installed for the passenger cars but there is a plastic pull tab that must be removed from each car before use. It would be nice if the one power switch on the train engine turned everything on but it just runs the engine and steam. It is a really nice realistic looking set and I would purchase again, and definitely two sets.

This train is well worth the money .Easy to assemble and the battery charge lasts a long time . My Kids age 2-6 love it !

Build quality is actually quite nice for the price. The locomotive is made of metal, and there's good (if odd) details to the whole thing. The locomotive has a front light that is red (for some reason) and the carriage cars light up inside, it's actually quite handsome overall. For the price, I was really just looking for something cute to put up under a small tree I set up for Xmas, but the quality is better than expected. My one complaint is that the train is very prone to derailing, the front bogey on the locomotive comes loose in the turns. If I set it up again, I'll probably try to add some weight to the front and see if that works.Also to note: When you turn the locomotive on, it makes a whistle sound and then the "chugga chugga" noises as it moves. It starts slow and gradually increases speed along with the sound effect. A nice touch. However, there is no way to disable it, so if you leave it running it's going to chugga chugga the whole time.The smoke effect, which I honestly did not expect to work, is very charming and only requires that you fill it with a bit of water (there is a little bottle included).

FyI engine only has motor so only coal car has batteries (included)Water for steam effect is lovely and lasts 30 mins or so, but I wish it had an off switch so I don't have to worry about running the heater dry and damaging it. Passenger cars have a tab underneath near front wheels to pull out of the watch battery packs. No window glass, but lit cars look nice. Red switch under front of each car for lights is hard to turn on and off without removing cars from track. Wish it was on the top or side of cars, not bottom. Train sounds are lovely. Bells horn and engine noise. Also wish it had a silent mode. Train signals departure before moving forward. Love that. Train slowly rolls put of station, sounds horn and then picks up speed. Only one cruising speed. Love that too. Track locks together nicely and securely. Decals on engine are low contrast and hard to see. Might add white lines. Cars are plastic not metal. Watch batteries in passenger car look hard to replace. No instructions. Overall nice train. Slightly larger than HO scale.

Saw the video, read through the description, and even the instructions. First off, no remote. Second, no smoke released from the wheel well area. Third, what train has a red headlight? Other than that, the train came with the rechargeable battery pack, easy to assemble, yes, the locomotive is the only one that has metal, but I got that feeling from the description, so no issue there. Overall, not a bad train set at all was able to make a rounded square to go around my tree. looks real nice.

We have had a few trains over the years and this one is by far the best! At night, the windows glow, giving a Polar Express vibe. The red highlight and steam features make it seem real. It’s a great “Santa” gift for the little ones. It’s sturdy and good quality, not like some of the other cheaply made ones we have had. Would definitely recommend

I purchased this train because of the materials used to create the train. I’m happy to say it’s the perfect size, looks amazing, the train is built with materials that will last longer than some of the cheaper materials on the market. I appreciated the links provided to keep the sturdy plastic tracks in place. The train moves along the track without tipping over. The sound and “steam” delighted the children as the train travelled around the Christmas tree. It comes with a charging cord which makes it function without batteries. I found this train to be a great value and the children found it to be great fun! Win - win!

Train came without box to hold batteries. The recharge able battery didn’t charge, couldn’t use other batteries because the box for them wasn’t included. Wouldn’t recommend buying the train set
