Robust construction. Sprinklers work OK but you need to take care of them.
Purchased May 2016. Like other reviews robust construction nicely made but way too often just sticks in one position doesn't spin round and so you get 70% of the area dry and the rest a quagmire. Water pressure 2.5 bar odd so it's the product sadly. I'll persist with it but after 2 years will now look for plan B. At least the tripod I got separately is OK Actually had a brainwave. Having previously tried WD40, anti grease lubricant, multi purpose oil stuff, since I live in a hard water area I've now tried passing sundry heads (5 or 6) though limescale removal treatment. So far three heads are bubbling away nicely so I live in hope. If it works then this goes to 5 star since the problem is the hard water not the device. To be honest if it works I'll kick myself. This should have be an immediate first option. Well sprinklers now working as they should. Moral is take care of your equipment. He says with a smile. Mike :)

Challenge with high water pressure
The tripod comes with pointed legs, to dig into the ground. Unless you can really dig them into the ground, the pressure of the sprinkler will push them over. We used in the garden and on soil flower beds, but on each occasion, the sprinkler would just tip over. The hight it gives is impressive, and the compatibility with the Darlac sprinkler is great, However, it will not stand up under its own weight, and we had to fashion a stand for it to sit in.

Decent sprinkler head giving good coverage though a bit fiddly to setup
I've nothing to compare this to, but it works well with the Darlac tripod and our relatively mediocre water pressure. I get a radius of about four to five metres when at the top of the tripod height which is pretty good given the water feed (I don't know our water pressure at mains, but the supply comes from our house so not directly mains and I run it through a 30m ageing rubber hose). The unit is reasonably well constructed and doesn't have any obvious plastic bits or weak points so I'm expecting it to last. The spray pattern was more chaotic than I'd expected (a lot of spray bouncing around) but that might be deliberate - either way, it gives good coverage over the full four or five metre radius so the ground does get soaked reasonably evenly. The setup is a bit fiddly but the instructions are reasonably clear. I'd recommend setting aside some time to experiment with it a bit. I agree with other comments that it can stick on one end of the travel if using the limited rotation - I've found this can be cured by work the return mechanism a few times as it seems to be a 'free movement' problem associated with the spring on the top and pins on the side (I've not tried any lubrication like WD40 or petroleum jelly on it yet but just a little of that would be my next stop). The limit controls are basic but I prefer that as there is less to go wrong. I found holding the spray fixed on the tripod in one direction then use thumbs to slide the limit stops round worked pretty well. Let it run then adjust as necessary. Because of the deflectors, it isn't always clear where the water will stop so a couple of adjustments are usually a good idea.

Excellent product.
The best sprinkler you can buy. Exactly the same as ones we used in Spain in the 80's, so easy to set up & adjust. Just bought a second one, plus the tripod (which we didn't have in Spain but wished they had been available then!) to water a meadow for the cows...desperate times, we have had no rain since March.

Does its job but hard to adjust the watering arc.
This was a replacement for one of similar design which was misbehaving. It can water a large area and its arc of operation is adjustable by two clips at the base. These trip the mechanism to reverse its direction of rotation. To change the angles you must rotate these clips. I find that hard to do because the two clips are too close together and require too much force to re-position. Very little force is needed to toggle the direction mechanism and the two clips are needlessly tight on their shaft. Also they are quite thick and not springy so you cannot open them out to make the task easier. The fine jet of water is scattered by an oscillating arm and by an adjustable screw whose tip interferes with the stream. I find it quite hard to achieve an even radial coverage. If you do not need a variable angle of sweep then the Three Arm Sprinkler head is a better buy in my opinion.

poor design
I have had Darlac units for years, one was old and worn so this was a replacement. The design has been changed in two small places resulting in the unit not rotating. Close inspection alongside the old unit shows the curved water guide to be much shorter in this version. The result is that the water jet fails to provide enough power to the impulse arm to rotate the unit. The dispersal screw does not strike the raised pad provided for it as it is well out of line from the pad No comparison with the original good quality Grey metal Darlac units .The old worn unit worked properly when refitted. New unit returned via Amazon for refund. I cannot understand why this inferior product carries the Darlac name and cannot recommend it.

Could've been great
Good design - kept stopping doesn't have a swing so on a restricted setting it would do 1 arc then stay at the stop point. Didn't work at our water pressure which isn't low.
