It was delivered as it was represented. I have had no trouble with the iron and actually works better with the mineral filter, than my previous gravity feed iron.

Works, but don't check color until water runs through it
When you get this, and the medium inside is dry, it is primarily brown-tan (see photo). This alarmed me because the label said that it should be blue, and when changed to brown that means it needs to be replaced. I exchanged it for another, which looked the same. This time I tested it, using a water hardness (TDS) meter I happened to have. My tap water read 130ppm, which is hard. Water run through the demineralizer read only 30ppm, very low, so it does work. The medium, when wet, did turn dark - if not exactly blue, it wasn't brown either. A rubber tube is included to adapt the demineralizer to a water source with a narrow outlet.

Poor quality
ive been buying these filters for my gravity iron for many years. It is supposed to be filled with blue 'beads' that turn yellow/orange when it's used and needs to be replaced. The one I just received AND the last one prior, are already yellow before even using. Doubt it'll even filter properly. very disappointed.

Water not filtering through.
I have purchased two of these in the past and they worked wonderful. However, after replacing the old one with this one, the water is not filtering through the filter. It comes out the tank but it does not come out of the filter into the hose. Thus, I am unable to get steam. I wish I could exchange it for another one, but now I'll have to buy another ones since this one doesn't work.

Set up instructions!
Ok, so this is just like all the other filters I've tried. Just set it up, but I expect it to work fine. 4* because I wish they had set up instructions for those who don't know, and I wish the casing was see-through so that I can tell when to replace it. Here are my 2 minute set up and prime instructions: 1. Turn off the water. 2. Remove your old filter directly from the spigot and have someone hold it so water doesn't come out. 3. Put the new filter on. 4. Hold a cup underneath it and turn on the water until it flows. 5. Turn off the water (due to the vacuum created, water won't flow out when its turned off.) 6. Now remove the old filter while covering the hose with your thumb because a little water might come out 7. Now attach the hose to the new filter. DONE. Steam should work just fine.
