5 star Inspiring MUST READ; stories of amazing humans navigating the storms of life!
Rising from the ashes of crisis and not allowing its dark energy to turn off the lights in your soul and obscure you from your true purpose is a difficult thing to withstand. In Shaken, Stirred but Not Deterred Vol 2: Stories of Finding your Way through the Storms of Life, the incredible authors show us how to harness that dark energy as a catalyst for personal growth, and the empowerment of others. These amazing humans skilfully, beautifully and so rawly tell their stories of how they found their way when it felt like every.single.light went out in their souls.Lorraine Salloum (a Mother, Adventurer, and Change maker), also someone I consider a warrior advocate fighting for change, fiercely protecting the rights and dignity of those who are different, misunderstood and vulnerable (but also amazing) members of our community, continues to light the way for others to Change the world so that people with disabilities and their families experience true acceptance and inclusivity; starts us off with a story of personal struggle and social impact. Her daughter was 2 when she was diagnosed with autism and the journey ahead appeared to be a terrifying one of agonising and freezing fear and isolation. Lorraine tells us that it doesn't have to be this way, and struggle can be transformed into social impact. Her incredible social venture Ability Advocates offers an undeniable light of hope for all all who wish for a more inclusive world and society. Lorraine finishes her story with a warrior like call to join her in advocating, educating and empowering. "Together, we can create a world where every one regardless of their differences or abilities is valued, included and allowed to shine."I adore and am inspired by Lorraine, so I have featured her story n my review, however; all the stories in this book are must reads, if you've lost your way, if you are having a string of dark "nights" of the soul (let's face it, it is never only just "one" night), do yourself a favour and pick up this book and be reminded of what it feels like for every.single.light to be on and shining.
