Excellent tool
Of great use to understand the troop landings and their routes into Normandy

A bit disappointing because careful study is needed to see the relatively unclear icons added.
As an aid to identifying what sites to see on a Normandy 1944 tour it does try hard, but it is not really the most suitable guide. As a reproduction of an historic map of that time it is very interesting. Worth buying but don't expect too much.

Great history map
A great reprint of the original Michelin map of Normandy from 1947 with all the landing sites for the British, Canadian and US troops. I got one for my mates birthday after our recent trip to Normandy for the 80th anniversary commemorations. I also got one for myself :-)

A good buy.
A recommended buy for any visitor to, or student of, the Normandy battles. This map shows you the differences between the 1940's road network and the modern equivalents. As an example: Villers-Bocage is quite different - it is now a much larger village, dominated by the E401 motorway which bypasses it to the South. This map shows us that it was smaller then and a key chokepoint for five converging roads. Most modern military history books have poor maps. This will help you make sense of your reading. The paper is flimsier than the modern Michelin map: you will need to take a bit of care and you can't expect it to last as long.

It covers a large inland area as well.
Used in conjunction with a bok on DDay. An even larger scale map is really neededto accompany this subject. There would be a market
