Fake and sold that way. Pretty though.
Pretty, shiny fake gold bar that definitely is magnetic. It’s a nice paperweight.

Simulated PAMP 1 tOz gold bar
Nice simulation of a genuine Suisse troy ounce bar. Two easily distinguishing characteristics ensure these are not intended to hoodwink consumers. They do not have the serialized PAMP number system AND they are strongly magnetic. This is important as the US bullion silver coins are heavily marketed for way over value as a simulation, yet just under silver melt value to entice those seeking a too good to be true "buy" on auction sites. More painful yet, you see review after review of folk thinking they have a real keepsake and gift for their loved ones. While adding to my little assortment of metal collectibles, actual gold would be absurd in cost so this plated is perfectly sufficient to fill it out. My only detraction would be the supplied capsule was a bit dirty and scratched, more important was the ingot was not.
