Q: How do you lock the line?

You pull the line or lines out and connect them to the hook/s (which come with it) then you pull it taught and tie the line around the bottom of the base of the unit (like a figure of 8)

Q: Is this 30m long or 15mx2 per line?

The instruction leaflet for fitting states to use a maximum of 15 metres length for each line - so the 30 metres advertised is the total length for the two lines.(I agree this is not made clear in the advertising ) !
