Once again Smallrig have delivered. Great foldable L-Bracket which covers virtually any situation ... my only bit of advice would be to add a second centre line mark when the frame is extended but apart from that it is spot on.

This bracket is made from aluminium alloy and stainless steel, which is strong and sturdy while also being small and lightweight, meaning it doesn't take up much room in the bag or add much weight. You're able to attach and detach your camera easily as well as switch between vertical and horizontal quickly, so you don't miss a shot. I find it has good grip and is comfortable to hold, which comes in handy if you're shooting for long periods of time. All in all, it's a handy bracket to add to the arsenal.

This is without any doubt a very helpful bracket considering that I have to record video landscape mode and when I have to change position of the camera to get portrait mode videos for social media I don't have to rotate the head of the tripod because I just simply use this bracket(this being the purpose of it). In terms of building quality, it is made from aluminium and has adaptor at the bottom which can obviously hold the camera properly even if I added a microphone and an external display and since I use it I didn't experience any kind of issues. It fits as expected on the camera and the advantage is that I don't even remove it when I have to take the camera with me so for all these reasons I consider this product to be exactly as described and very helpful specifically for my work.

I’ve used Smallrig L Brackets on all my previous cameras without complaint. They generally make the smaller digital cameras much easier and more comfortable to hold. I am therefore sad to report that despite the clever features, this L Plate on the Sony A7R5 has edges that dig into the palm of my left hand and make the experience of photography most uncomfortable. I cannot recommend this item at all, from the normally incredibly reliable Smallrig. Very disappointing and will regretfully be returning the item and looking for another manufacturer. .

This is a beautifully designed piece of engineering. It has been designed around the challenges of the A7RV flip screen and delivers when it comes to allowing the camera to function as designed, when fitted. However for me there were 2 major problems that in the end I just couldn't live with 1- There is a small amount of movement when the camera is mounted in the upright or 'portrait' position. As the bracket allows you to fold this section down I guess its inevitable that a hinge will have some movement but if you are using this bracket when shooting astro on a star tracker, the shifting weight will cause movement in the bracket. Ultimately the bracket should be totally rigid and sadly this one isn't 2- If you carry your camera on a sling strap you will find this bracket, due to its design, will dig into you side and proves a little uncomfortable Sadly I have returned this bracket and ordered the Small Rig Half cage for the Sons A7RV. I think this will be a better solution for me.

This is the perfect fit for the A7, giving me just enough height for a spot to place my pink finger. Doesn't sound like much but it makes a big difference. Camera battery removal is easy to accomplish without removing the plate. This is a godsend for time-saving. The base of the camera remains without wear because it only needs to be tightened to the camera once. It gives my little finger a place to grip but weighs almost nothing. This is the solution I did not know I wanted. Perfect design because it’s half of a full cage resulting in less weight stressing your camera gimbal motors out and fits really well. It's sturdy but not overly bulky and still has plenty of anchors if you want to add to it. I used mine to hold a monitor and my Rode wireless go receiver and it worked perfectly! Highly recommend.

La placa pinta muy bien pero para mí tienen dos defectos, por un lado, la parte horizontal que se desliza para permitir el uso de cables cuando está en vertical no es estable, se abre fácilmente pero luego se atasca para cerrar y el otro es que en el trípode la cámara no queda centrada.

It is an L-Bracket that works with the flip-out screen of the Sony A7M4. The built quality is good, the item feels robust and reliable. The licking in both positions works well, it fits the camera well. I only found 2 small downsides: when flipped in (locking plate below the camera), the hinge is pointing outward for about 1-2 cm, which I need to consider while storing the camera in a tight bag; the 2nd downside I think is the price, although I still bought it with quite a reduction.

Staffa robusta, di ottima fattura, pensavo che avesse una forma ad L, invece la staffa per l attacco sul treppiedi in orizzontale non ha la forma ad L, rendendo libero lo spostamento del monitor

I bought the version that is for the Sony A7R V (A7R5). It fits perfectly. It works perfectly. I can access the battery to swap it without removing the L bracket. If I want to record video and/or access the cable ports on the side of the camera, I can adjust it so the left side extends out of the way of these. It is very stiff and doesn’t cause any shake in the camera when on the tripod (it is better than a normal plate in this regard). For those people who have mistakenly bought the wrong one, or not read the instructions, they are wrong to criticize - this is a very affordable L bracket and well made. Better or as good as more expensive ones. I will get more from these folks over time.
