I usually buy canned beans, but was looking for a less expensive, higher-quality bulk option, and I found it! I was surprised at how much my family enjoyed High Plains black beans. First of all, the packaging was great. The shipping box held the bag of beans perfectly and protected it from damage. The bag itself is sturdy (not to mention cute), and not a single bean spilled out during shipping. The beans looked really clean, but I rinsed and strained them anyway. I didn't see any debris mixed in with the beans, which was nice. I didn't soak the beans, because I was in a rush, but simply cooked them on the stovetop in some water. It was a really easy process with a delicious result. I'm not a black bean connoisseur, but these beans were so much better tasting than my regular canned black beans and the other dried beans I've tried in the past. Great price, quality, texture, and such a good flavor.

I received exactly what is pictured. Beans look fresh (as in not old dried beans) and cooked up well. I moved the beans to containers to keep them fresher and now have a nice cloth to use for straining yogurt, etc.

Ordered them about a week ago. Delivered on time and packaged neatly. Taste great, easy to cook, and are now a staple in my pantry for sure. Def would recommend the black beans!

These beans cooked up well. They were soft and delicious. In the past I have soaked black beans and cooked them way longer than the recipe required and still ended up with hard, inedible beans. These cooked up perfectly

I got tired of spending way too much for canned black beans and I got tired of having to run to the store every time I wanted to have black beans. So I decided to can these. Amazing product, clean, well packaged and very tasty. Out of seven of the 10 pound sack I got 14 quarts of canned beans. Out of the other 3 pounds. I made southwestern black bean soup. I loved those beans! Great product.

I ordered a bag of these to make sure they sold what they advertised, I split these into small Mylar bags, 2lb per bag, last bag came out to 1lb 6.2oz. So that makes it just over half a pound short, hopefully my red beans are a full 10lb otherwise I will find another brand for prepping and or long term storage.
