Happy Fermenter
Love the kit for starters. I have had zero problems with the kids not screwing on right and I bought two different kits at different times. Guess I can chew gun and screw a lid at the same time lol. For some reason when I ordered this product twice I got the updated weights first then the old ones in the kits. The old weights were a tad too smooth to grip for removal so the updated weights have a knob to omit that issue. Customer service was IMPECCABLE!!! Id normally have returned the item without hesitation but we wanted the 2nd kit for our fermentation classes so instead reached out to the seller. They patiently explained that I was referring to weights that were not what I should have gotten and ever so graciously replaced those weights for us. I was so grateful as these kits are perfect for moving about or passing around a group so it would have been a shame to forfeit that. Yes the jars are small...simply READING the listing's specs tells you that(?!?) They are great to get you started. You can always upgrade once you've got the hang of fermenting.

Worked ok. Good value. Directions could be better.
It was simple to use and start making my sauerkraut. It wasn’t clear what the plastic valve thing does. I followed the directions. As the fermentation process continues, the valve filled up. I wasn’t sure what to do with that. Wish there directions were more thorough.

Big Hit !
I bought one for myself and after I fell in love with it I bought one for Christmas for my in-laws and they are over the top happy. Great little starter kit. Can't beat the price. Excellent quality!

OK to get you started, but that's about it...
If you've never fermented any foods before and have zero equipment, then this kit is a decent way to get started, but it has several issues:1) The lids are terrible - as others have mentioned, if you tighten them even a little bit they will pop off. It's simply because they are made of incredibly cheap plastic, which flexes easily. Fortunately you don't need to tighten them much anyway. Just as long as they are on and the threads catch a little, it's probably good enough. The important thing is that your food is submerged under the brine, so whether the cap is tight or not doesn't really matter.2) The jars are too small. I mean, they'll work and you'll get some nice fermented food, but you will immediately start looking for 32 ounce wide mouth Mason jars.3) The airlocks are useless. As noted above, the lids cannot be tightened without popping off, so it is impossible for enough pressure to build up to cause a bubble in the airlock. The airlocks themselves are fine, so if you make beer or wine, you can use them there. Fortunately for me, I do, and I have. The weights are the most valuable part of this kit. My recommendation is to pack and fill the jars nearly to the top with brine, then insert the weight (which will cause it to overflow, so do it at the sink). Then gently screw the lid on. As mentioned above, the important thing is that the food is submerged, so doing this will accomplish that. Overall, it's a very "meh" kit, but it is sufficient to get you started if you have nothing now.

As described arrived on time.
As described. Delivered on time. I’m new to fermenting. New batch ongoing now. No mess on my countertop or plate. The glass press helps smash the fermentation down. Love it.

Swwet onion and acv fermenting nicely
I like the kit, it's small but it's enough for a single person. Make sure to use a plate or shallow bowl under the ferment, in case of too much liquid.Others have said; "the cap pops off easily." Either you didn't snap it into place, or there was too much liquid.Another said the glass weight was stuck permanently. I had one stuck too. I had to pull it hard to get it out, but not an issue, really.
