I love these. They are big but easy to handle. I use them at the kitchen table. Another bonus about the size is that it isn't necessary to constantly refill them. The holes in the top can be dialed to smaller or larger depending on your needs. The simple design makes them attractive.

My plastic salt shaker with lid crumbled to pieces(after 20 years). I wanted medium sized shakers with big enough holes for course ground pepper, but with cover in case they are knocked over. I ordered 4 types. The others had holes too small for pepper, and/or no covers. These really stood out. They don’t take up too much counter space, but can easily be closed so they won’t spill, and big enough not to need to be refilled frequently . I immediately got a second pair.

I like these to use for spices like onion powder, garlic powder, etc, since the containers garlic, onion, etc come in have very large holes.

REAL COOKS always have salt and pepper shakers at the stove. They usually get a little messy with the steam, food fingers picking them up, etc. these have tops that close easily with a twist. Settings for just a smidge of salt or pepper or twist to the fully upen setting for salting pasta water. They are clear so you can see when you are getting low. Like I said just perfect !

The salt shaker had grains almost immediately get stuck under the lid which made turning it almost impossible. Also - you're supposed to be able to "dial" the top to control how much gets shaken out - but you just end up turning the whole lid and have to hang onto it tightly so it doesn't unscrew. Nice looking - but that's about it.
