Q: Is this real wood or plywood?

It’s “environmental particle board” which is not real wood. But it is beautiful, and looks just like real wood.

Q: Is this sturdy enough by it self to not need to bolted into the wall?

I say yes with a caution if you have small children that might climb on it ---then I would bolt to the wall. I use it in my office to hold my printer and books and my cat has jumped up on it and it was fine!

Q: How tall is the space between the shelves?
