Arrived missing 2 bolts, but Truxxx company called us ASAP to make things right!
All holes seemed to line up well, but you’ll have most the headache in the rear due to the very tight fit on the rear shock extensions. Instructions say it’s due to the severe duty vehicles these kits also fit. It’s a doable DIY job but you’ll need a heavy & capable helper with a cheater bar to help drop the rear knuckle low enough to be able to fit the shock onto the extension bracket. Package was missing 2 new bolts for these rear shock extensions, so it was a little frustrating to find out at the time of the job. I trusted it was all there which was my own mistake. Instructions don’t include a parts check list, so we weren’t the wiser until installation. Having to piece together a kit that should have arrived completed wasn’t fun but Robin at Truxxx called us directly to make it right within an hour after this review was posted. We spent another $20 and wasted a little time getting some grade 8 bolts and washers at Harbor Freight, but she offered a refund of $30.00 without hesitation. Not the end of the world, but disappointing when you’re mid-job is all. Also, you more than likely will need to cut 1/8”-3/16” off of the front OEM strut tower studs to be able to clear the tower cap extensions, so keep that in mind prior to starting. Make sure you start the tower nuts after cutting the studs to make ensure they screw on smooth prior to finding out at re-installation. I will also say instructions are okay however not as clear as they should be. In some cases, like for the front strut caps, images would have been ideal considering the caps are offset top to bottom and have 2 different guide grooves on the top and bottom of the caps that can both be aligned with the strut tower guide groove — meaning there is a wrong way and a right way to install (we tried) and it’s not easy to tell until they are installed. Instructions just say “offset top toward engine,” but an image would’ve been cool. Anyway, the lift itself looks great and quality seems durable. I would order again. Just compare the listing image to package components when you get the package and you should be good.

Excellent quality kit
Great kit. It took me approx. 4 hours to install. If you’ve changed struts or CV axles before, you can install this kit yourself. A franchise alignment shop was unable to align my vehicle because their computer could only calculate stock settings & adjustments. A family owned professional shop that deals with lowered/lifted vehicles had no problem getting the alignment into the specs provided by Truxxx. I installed 18x9 + 18mm offset wheels/no spacers/265 60 18 Cooper Discoverer Rugged Trek tires. No rubbing issues. I recommended this kit and would buy again.

Sturdy, capable lift with excellent customer service
My local garage did the installation and mentioned that the parts were of very high quality. The finished lift looked excellent, and as the product description stated, the ride quality was unchanged (I would even venture that the ride quality has improved a bit with a slightly stiffer suspension). The Explorer now has a much nicer stance and the view over the road is noticeably better. Most importantly, the ground clearance has been increased from about 7.8" to 10" average (without changing the tire size), making it much easier to clear small to moderate sized obstacles on a trail run, not to mention improved approach and departure angles. My only concern -- and a minor one at that once explained to me by customer service over at Truxxx, and confirmed by my garage -- was that the lift caused the rear wheels to sit slightly off center from the wheel well, pushed a little closer towards the front. This is apparently due to the mechanics of lifting the independent suspension but without changing any of the stock parts. The wheelbase is unchanged and according to the technicians, no additional stress is being placed on components, so the change is aesthetic. I'm currently running stock tires so my only possible concern for the future is any tire rubbing in the rear wheel well should I upgrade to larger tires. Otherwise, I'm very pleased with the purchase, and again, I can't praise the customer service over at Truxxx highly enough for responding to all my questions throughout the process!UPDATE (Sept. 2022): After three and a half years of using this lift, I can't be happier with my purchase! The improved ground clearance and approach/departure angles provided by the lift (combined with a 31" tire that can now fit without rubbing) made the Explorer so much more capable on rough roads. The only part that broke in the time that I've had the lift is the sway bar link extension bracket, and the breakage was only due to me accidentally driving over a curb. I called Truxxx same day asking for a replacement, and Robin (customer service rep) went above and beyond by providing me with a 50% discount, while Darren, the owner of Truxxx, went so far as to waive overnight shipping so I could have my car repaired quickly. Suffice it to say, this kind of customer service is rare to see these days. Bottom line- if you're thinking of lifting your 5th Gen, you can't go wrong with this product!

Nice Kit with a Definite Height Increase & Improvement
>>> Front Raised approx. 2" and Rear Raised approx. 3" <<<NOTE: That these measurements included going-up 1 tire size (which adds about 1" between the ground level, and the vehicle's underside). This was done on my wife's new-to-her 2019 Ford Explorer Sport.I have a 2016 Ford Explorer Sport that has the same exact body, suspension & wheels (and same color LOL). So, because of this, I have an identical same-model vehicle to compare the lifted differences to (BTW, I'm leaving mine at the stock height. = because I like the look of the stock height over a lifted height).I included 1 picture of both of the explorers (this was taken before the lift install on the 2019).The wife is VERY happy with her improved & better road view, and the "increased clearance" to deal with our heavy New England snow. I would recommend this to anyone considering it. My tire shop guys did the install and they were very impressed with it (they said that it took about 2.5 hours for them to do).LAST: You might want to be safe and get a 4-wheel alignment after you do the install.

Overall good so far.
Install was decent, had issues with the alignment on the front though, did not go well. Dealer had to call Truxxx as the specs supplied were not possible. Adjust the struts & they got it close but not perfect. We will see how the tires wear.
