Strong Fabric ! Works good for Coarse Ground Coffee!
I purchased it May 20, 2014 and still using it today to filter coffee for cold brew.I make 2 pounds of coarse ground coffee every week and a half throughout the summer ,spring ,fall and mostly winter as it doesn't last long here in Texas.I cold brew 2 pounds of ground coffee in a 3 gallon pot at a 3 to 1 ratio, for 32 hours in the fridge.( Makes about 1 gallon of Brew)Once its time, I get my funnel that I got from a 1 gallon milk container that I Cut the top off from!I slide the coffee bag over the funnel and place it over my 1 gallon rubber maid jug and place it inside the sink so it will be lower and thus you wont have to lift 3 gallon pot as high. Then I lift my 3 gallon pot and pour it into the funnel.Once you start tilting the 3 gallon pot to much to empty it out , you have to be careful and not have a avalanche of coffee otherwise you will have a mess! So i use a plastic plate ,that fits perfectly flat inside my 3 gallon container to keep the coffee from falling out.And at the end I press firmly against the plate to squeeze out the remaining coffee gotta get every drop! After all that mentioned above, This is where this bag stands out to me !After emptying out carefully all the brew from the container, the coffee bag is almost full of coffee.grounds.I separate the Coffee Bag from the Homemade Funnel from a milk gallon jug.I Firmly twist/pinch/bend strain the Bag full of coffee and get the remaining concentrate the good stuff!Really surprised that year after year the bag has not torn/stretched/ripped etc when I do the last procedure!Strong fabric and highly recommend this coffee bag!One other thing!I have played around with the brewing techniques! Some people put the coffee inside the bag and then let it soak inside the container, then when done they just take the bag out and done.I find the coffee brew to be stronger and have more flavor if you let the coffee grounds mix with the water freely without the bag and see more foam when doing this!Update 2020 Coffee bag still been used and no signs of wear or tear. Still recommend !

This coffee bag just doesn't work as well as cloth ones I've used. Very cheap product.

There might not be a great solution for cold brew iced coffee
There might not be a great solution for cold brew iced coffee... one the first attempt, I had the same problem as other DIY methods; gritty coffee. I have a nice conical burr grinder that I set to the coresest setting, and invariably there is still a lot of dust/sediment produced. That stuff is fine enough to get through the bag and into your coffee. if you let your pitcher settle for an hour or so after removing the bag, it will likely all sink to the bottom and it's just your last cup you need to worry about (as long as you don't shake your pitcher). But still, that's annoying.I like the taste of cold brew coffee best, but making extra strong hot coffee and pouring immediately over ice is the best way to get less acidic coffee with little/no risk of grit.

This bag makes it much easier for me to make ...
This bag makes it much easier for me to make my own cold brew coffee. I wish I'd thought to look for this kind of product sooner! The one thing that's a bit of a pain is when coffee grounds get into the gap where the draw string is - they can be a challenge to get out. Totally worth it though!

Cleaning is easy. No staining
All you'll need is a container with a lid. As long as the opening isn't too wide most any medium to small size jar, pitcher or tall Tupperware should work. Just insert bag. Deposit coffee in bag. Deposit water. Seal it all. Sit in fridge for 8-12 hrs. And you've got fresh cold brew coffee. The bag gives instructions for a much smaller serving than its capable of. I'd say it could work with a 40 or 48oz jar. I used it with 16oz canning jars. Cleaning is easy. No staining. You just rinse with warm water and air-dry. You could use a clothes line or drape it over something. I let mine sit upright and around something in the sink basin. This has no moving parts. No assembly required. Takes up almost no room in the cabinet. And much less of an eyesore than any of the other systems. It's cleaner than cotton sock equivalents or other systems. No waste besides the coffee grounds themselves and you can just sprinkle those in your herb garden or mulch.

It cleans easily with a quick rinse and dries quickly
I have used this bag twice to make cold brew coffee and it works perfectly for my needs. However, I found that when I left the drawstring hanging out of my container, it had a wicking effect and I ended up with a puddle of coffee on my counter. I resolved that issue by putting the whole bag in the pitcher while letting it brew. The bag is made of nylon which is strong and allows squeezing to get the liquid out before disposing of the grounds. It cleans easily with a quick rinse and dries quickly. Overall I am pleased with this purchase.

Four Stars
It works fine, except coffee grounds get into the draw-string part and are nearly impossible to wash out.
