Worth every penny. Would buy again
Things a blast. I break every RC car I run, usually within 4-5 runs. Without any jumps or nothin. This things a BLAST to drive, with dual cnhl racing series 8,000 mah batteries I get almost 20 minutes of runtime beating the piss out of it. I've jumped it, flipped it, tried to backflip off a tree, drifted it, done wheelies, etc etc. about the second time I ran it, I stopped caring if it broke and drove it to have fun. The thing just broke like 14-15 runs later, and it was only a 25 dollar driveshaft I sheered the pins off of. It wasn't the trucks fault, either. I was driving it like someone was paying me to break the thing, for every second of every battery pack. Thing hold up better then anything I've ever seen. It's a bit heavy at 25-26 lbs, so keep that in mind. But, under it's over power it'll climb virtually any hill any terrain any speed. I wasnt totally impressed with the top speed, but, I wasn't running the high speed gearing. Considering its size and weight, the thing BUGGIES. all these runs later, driving it like I was trying to break it, it still looks brand new. It's got its scratches, but I only have 1 crack in the body, that I patched with shoe goo and drywall tape after run number 2, and I also did the same on the body mount holes. I'm just now starting to wear down and crack the body, but as I said, I've been jumping it 6 feet in the air, 25 mph and landing this heavy a** truck directly on the body, I've been absolutely abusing this thing. If you drove it like a normal person, you'd get a lot of use before things break. That being said, it just gives you confidence to push its limits. It's very predictable. It's addicting to drive. The adrenaline rush is like no other. It's worth every penny if you're into the hobby.

It's a box full of fun!
This thing rocks! Keep an eye out when it goes on sale. When you get it, tighten all the screws (mine were all loose) and make sure you put your wheel nuts on tight or this truck will spin the wheels right off. Tried cnhl purple series 6200mah batteries- wouldn't hold over 2200mah, tried socokin 8200mah- wouldn't hold over 2500mah, but the Gen Ace 4s 8000mah holds a full charge- best batteries I've found, mix that with a IMARS D300 gen ace charger (easy to use) and you have a good combo that last for about 40 min a charge. Fun truck, it's crazy jumping 30lbs of stunt truck in the air. Great buy.

A Beast!
Picture is the Beast next to my 4S v2 Outcast. It's a mammoth! Ive taken it to skate park and have done a few pretty good launches. It has serious punch and good top speeds! It does not backflip like the 4S but it does climb hills and handle better with its weight. Before using LOWER THE CUTOFF VOLTAGE in the ESC setup menu. Directions explain how. My first run I thought it was bad ESC but the default battery cut off is WAY too high. Once I turned punch up all the way and lowered the cut off its been flawless. Awesome truck all around. It can take an absolute beating and survive too! I love this thing!

customer service once you have bought the product is a hassle
Motor stopped working on the fifth week of purchasing product and on the sixth run. I emailed horizon customer support asking if they can help with a warranty replacement or return. (as an end user, you need to fill out a form prior which asks for a LOT of personal information; name, phone number, address, receipt [amazon bill] and pictures/video of your issue]. 1. their help hotline does NOT work. by not work, I mean you call the number, no one picks up. 2. the CSR was professional, however, it seems that the procedure is to assess but delay. Email responses and replies were once a day (this is standard and is generally acceptable by most businesses when helping customers at the least). 2. the assessment was over 5 business days with back and forth questioning. I gave up on the fourth email response because I have grown accustomed to 'quick' customer service resolution (i.e, by the first time i contact a business, it should be resolved already). In this instance, I think 3 connections is more than enough so I gave it a try, but by the fifth time, it was pointless (do note, that this is during the 2024 december holidays). 3. again, this is not a personal slight on the CSR; more towards the business because of how assessing and then determining the situation of a customer's needs in problem solving a warranty replacement. my thought process is that the business does not want to give out free parts, which is understandable as many people can take advantage of it. overall, its probably easier to disregard this company's customer service portion and buy the replacement parts. 4. i do think they are more responsive and helpful towards authorized dealers of their products. but i don't have any data points on that end, however, if your AD is a 'premium business', then maybe you might get better support. As a comparison, Traxxas support has been far better with my XRT issues. This is anecdotal, however and I only have one example. 5. if the business horizon see's this, don't give me a replacement and don't contact my email or me at all. to future purchasers, product is solid, but if you want to replace a part because it 'broke down' while still under warranty, you need to prove to them (the business) why is it broken and provide irrefutable proof that it is. their business model is for you to buy the parts and customer service post sales is secondary to the consumer.
