Winware , 8 Inch, Aluminum

It's May 13, 2017, and my new Winware pans just arrived. They do indeed have BLUE silicone grips and I could not possibly care less, for these are pans made for commercial kitchens, not designer art galleries. For those who are in a state of alarm because Winco changed the color from RED to BLUE, please note that the new grip is a very dark blue, which many people might call "navy." The grip also now has a very slight pebbled texture, where the red grips were smooth, and the triangular hanger-hole is somewhat more elongated. Plan décor accordingly!As for the critical stuff, our old Winco pans were essentially indestructible, save for the nonstick coating, which eventually wears in any pan. I'm pleased to see that the new, "blue" Winware pans are identically made, with no reduction in the gauge of the aluminum or the steel handle. The rivets are still substantial and tight. Bottoms are flat and the coating is applied well. I replaced my 7-inch with an 8-inch and am pleased to find that its handle is shorter, so it now has no tendency to tip over.The old ones lasted years (and the pans themselves, without the coating, will last another century), so I expect many happy years of good meals from the new ones as well. A tip: if you want maximum service life from the nonstick coating, avoid high heat, avoid harsh cooking utensils (and use them gently), and wash the pans by hand. Dishwasher detergent strips the nonstick quality from the coating.

Handle is BLUE, NOT RED (minus one star), but it hangs straight down on a hook, as it should. (Handle has a slight gap at one side of the rivets but seems solid.) The flat bottom part goes almost out the edge, with a fairly smooth turn to the side, so it works for large grilled cheese slices, and the pan is stable on the gas burner. It is VERY SLICK! LOL The first crêpe that I flipped literally flew out of the pan.Nice hefty pan, heat pattern on high gas burner is completely even. 10" diameter is a very useful size.

The handle is too heavy causing the pan to be unbalanced. Instead of cooking evenly my eggs bunched at the side by the handle. I had to hold the pan even. The handle quickly became too hot to hold with my hand. I would not recommend this pan.

I bought this 8" pan for the first time 3 years/4 months ago. I used it almost everyday, at least 5 times per week. The non stick surface finally gave out because I abused it with high heat and spray oil (like pam).Very happy with the first pan so I decided to get the same pan again.

I love these restaurant quality pans. I am gradually replacing older cookware. I've purchased all sizes and giving as gifts. Wash these by hand and use silicone utensils and they will last long time.

I use this for my eggs in the morning. I love that my eggs don't stick. Great pan for the price.

I saw a cook at a casino making a million omelettes in one of these and I was sold. They are somewhat easy to scratch but with the reasonable price point I’m not heartbroken if I need to replace one.

Excellent aluminum restaurant pan. It's my go-to pan for morning scrambled eggs. It's way too soon to know how long the non-stick coating lasts. But at its low price I'm viewing it as "disposable." If it lasts a year I'll be overjoyed. I use silicone tools and hand wash. Also goes in the oven. Very convenient

I received the frying pan but I'm very disappointed as I see someone on the previous message or comment my apologies regarding advertising of The Frying Pan was very misleading. it showed that I would have got a sets of frying pan and I only got one so I didn't expect that, so this is very misleading and they need to correct this issue and noted it on there details because this is very false advertising!

Only problem with these pans are the the handles which are a little too long, but otherwise great.

I realize it's my fault, but looking at the picture I thought it was a four piece set not just one tiny little fry pan. I am very disappointed that the picture was misleading
