I’ve been searching for a compact, ultra-light, but somehow sturdy umbrella, and this is it. It’s a German product made in China, but it still looks and feels like high quality. All the metal ribs have sleek, smooth, and glossy black finishes. Since the umbrella is not automatic, it’s not bulky or heavy. Some automatic ones are hard to fold due to its spring action, and some manual ones are hard to stretch at the end due to design flaws and weak materials. Every part of this umbrella moves smoothly, looking fancy. Lucky deal.

I wanted a manual open umbrella. I have a hard time closing the automatic type. This opens with a “woosh” and secures itself. I love it so far. Have not used it in the wind or a bad storm. It should hold up.

So many umbrellas are flimsy but Knirps is amazing, strong and constructed well. The umbrella is super compact but the quality is top notch.

First use, it flipped inside out. I assume it broke during first use because I couldn’t open it the second time I tried to use it. Not a great purchase, can confirm.

This product is absolute garbage - a word that rhymes with hit but starts with the letter S. DO NOT BUY - this umbrella is so bad I will never buy anything from this company again. Doesn't work right, when it does open and lock the lock jams so when you close it the lock bites into your finger and leaves a nasty cut! And it leaks!

Este paraguas plegable es una maravilla, yo estoy muy contento con él, relativamente pesa poco y es compacto, por otro lado es más resistente que la media, y aguanta el viento, finalmente la tela es muy buena, no cala nada, y se seca rápido. Sobre el viento, aguanta sin romperse, las varillas son un poco flexibles, eso hace que si el viento lo vuelve, se regresa a su posición con facilidad, y me ha ocurrido bastante. Respecto al tamaño, no es de bolsillo, pero si cómodo de llevar en mochila o bolso. Es manual, muy fácil de abrir y cerrar, lo elegí así porque mis ultimos automáticos terminaron fallando. Ah, y otro aspecto fundamental, no es pequeño, para una persona grande sin problema. En general, es un buen paraguas, relativamente bueno en todos los aspectos. Como aspectos negativos livianos: - con viento fuerte las varillas se vuelven, aunque luego vuelven facilmente, pero podía estar más preparado para esto. - cuando va abierto, a veces los encajes del armazón hacen un poco de ruido por holgura, tuve otro igual que perdí y no recuerdo ese ruido. - el mango es..., lo justo para cogerlo, nada de ergonomía, claro, si quieres un paraguas compacto esto es evidente. Para quien es?: Quien quiera un paraguas pequeño, normal y bueno, sin florituras, para guardar en bolso, mochila o llevar de viaje. Para quien no es?: Quien quiera un paraguas de bolsillo. Quien quiera usarlo intensivamente, aunque tiene buen tamaño abierto, pero quizá elegiría uno mas grande. Quien quiera un paraguas grande para 2.

On the third time my wife opened the umbrella one of the rib hinge points broke, no wind or stress, just failed. Very disappointed.

I wouldn’t bet these against a Dutch windstorm but the best umbrella is the one you have with you. This one is small enough and light enough that I can keep it in my bag or pocket without a second thought. So far it’s saved me multiple times. Glad I got this over a tougher storm umbrella.
