This is an excellent introduction to written and spoken Spanish. I found it very easy to learn from this course, even though I knew almost no Spanish when I started. The course uses examples from practical, real-life situations throughout, so right from the start, I was learning words and phrases that will be useful.The course teaches the dialect of Spanish that is spoken in mainland Spain, but the author frequently highlights the important differences in pronunciation and word usage that you'll encounter in Latin America and in regions of Spain such as the Canary Islands.CAVEAT: If you're planning to buy this product, please note that it includes the same pair of audio CDs that Amazon sells separately as "Teach Yourself Complete Spanish: Audio Support", and which it lists under the "Frequently Bought Together" heading. This is very misleading and confusing. If you click "Add both to basket", you'll end up with two sets of the audio CDs, and you'll have to return the extra set to Amazon!

Good book/cd combo to covers all the basics for intermediate learners.This package is a vslue for money gem - you could spend a year working with it and find a little nugget. Doubt using it alone would get you to B2 though.Pros: all exercises/units provide practice of 'functional' language that you can use.The units are progressive in that more complex language is progressivel introoducedCovers reading, listening, writing & speaking exercises.Value for moneyCons: maybe not enough speaking practice/mimicingYou would need to be proactive doing your own revision/spaced repetition.Much of the 2,000 word vocabulary would be 'passive' and not tip of the tongue.Summary: excellent value for more package for lower intermediate learners

This does appear to be the current version. There's a tiny note on the back pointing to the Teach Yourself app, though the text is 2012 and refers to CDs. So it might be usable, I've yet to see how it goes, but it's not at all clear.

Advertised with cds but no cds included

i chose this course as it was one of the few still offering a CD to go along. I was planning on using this to listen along while on the road. Unfortunately there is no CD included, despite being advertised on the product image and description I relied on when ordering.I do have an option to install the app and listen to it there but this isn't actually an option for me as I am one of the few people, apparently, that actually need their phone for making and receiving calls once in a while.Quite disappointed about that.

I have been learning Spanish for some time but a new teacher recommended this book. It is very clear and much better that the older editions. It works on a DIY basis as well as with a teacher, although if you are doing it completely on your own then the CD would be essential. I have been known to sit in bed and just the read it! Could be sad but it is a fun book as well as educational.

It covers everything from A1 - B1-B2Audio is available online for free. No CD required. It has explained grammar, culture, especially about Spain. Must buy if beginner 👍

The Complete French by teach yourself is picky when it comes to prioritising the correct content to teach progressively, I bought the ebook for Russian and wished to buy the German too because the Russian one is very choosy in selecting content and comprehensive, I did the right thing and bought for French and Spanish and Italian too, for all these languages they are needed excellent books for the reasons I cited, Being impartial I am only disappointed with the one for Japanese ebook because it is relies too much on romaji and when kanji is shown it blurred and the font small but for German, Russian, French, Spanish and Italian they are NEEDED books even the Japanese one has its advantages when it comes to how it teaches grammar and vocabulary having in mind how Japanese language must be taught due to its impar and unique culture of the Japanese mind that influences it heavily.
