Solid and quite beautiful
This is a great looking ball head for your tripod, the black and metallic anodized red looks superb. It feels solid too, this isn't the lightest - but hat's because this is a tough metal head which will last.I'll be honest, I steered clear of Manbily items as I always thought of them as cheap and nasty, but recently I've used several Manbily items and I've had to revise that opinion. I think I've probably lost out because I've missed the opportunity to use various Manbily things and I'm not very impressed with them. This tripod head works great, it's easy to control the ball tilt and the 360 panning using the levers/knobs. I was going to give this 4 stars as the handle is long and I didn;t really need it, so it got in the way and takes up room in my bag. However - it can be removed with a small allen key (the bolt is on the underside) and should I wish to - I can always add it back on.I have a few tripods and I've replaced the ball head on my budget tripod with this head and I am so pleased with it. It functions like any premium ball head and feels like a premium item, plus - it just looks so cool too!It comes with 2 Arca-Swis quick release plates (one is on the camera head already, the other is separate) and at first I thought they were plastic - but no, they are metal too. As with everything else on this item, they are held firmly and I have complete trust that this will hold my camera rig with no issues. In a nutshell: A superb item, I would have preferred a twist off handle but not enough to deduct a star. Like I say, it can be removed with a small allen key.

Great For Small Camreas Or Lights
The media could not be loaded. This is a smother ball head tripod head.there are 2 rather that the 1 dials to changer the tension of the ball head. I've got a few ball heads but this is the first to be like this. Its kinda cool.If you need one for a small camrea or light then its great but nothing too big. If you have a camrea with built-in lene yes. If you have a camra with interchangeable lenses then I would consider something bigger.4****

Decent quality at an affordable price.
Another very solid and well finished, affordable ball head from Manbily. The ball head itself has adjustable damping along with a locking knob, both work pretty well - though the damping with mine is a little uneven, occasionally a little rough with the odd skip. With the 'U' cutout facing backwards the locking knob is to the right, damping knob to the left - worth remembering that as there's no other visual difference between them. Right here I'll say that's the biggest criticism I have - and it could easily be remedied by increasing the diameter of the locking knob. This would have a double impact - easy to differentiate between the functions, and much easier to lock the ball as the small diameter makes it a bit of a struggle. Both the base and the camera mount plate provide a panning function, and both have a locking knob. The camera mount features an Arca-Swiss style quick release plate, and the head is supplied with two plates - which is nice. Both the camera plate and the quick release knob feature a bubble level so it's easy to level the camera in both orientations. Very handy. The head also comes with a control handle - while this might be desirable for some, I find it doesn't add much value for my use. However, 30 seconds work with a 2mm allen key, and the handle is gone. This is absolutely not a criticism, the opposite in fact - it's a bit of added value if you find it useful, and it's easy to remove if you don't.If you're on a budget this is a solid, very nicely made and finished ball head. It works very well, has some nice features, and it really won't break the bank. Given that the worse thing I can say about it is that the locking knob could be a little larger diameter, it's difficult not to recommend it.

exceptional stability
The ball head with handle 36mm is crafted from high-quality aluminium, ensuring exceptional stability and precision. The 36mm ball joint provides a wide range of motion, allowing me to effortlessly position my camera at any angle, from delicate macro shots to sweeping panoramic landscapes. The ball joint glides smoothly and effortlessly. This is particularly crucial for capturing sharp and detailed images, especially in low-light conditions or when using slower shutter speeds. Included swiss quick release plates allow me to quickly mount and detach my camera without sacrificing stability or security. This feature is very useful when switching between different cameras or lenses during a shoot. Despite its robust construction, the ball head with remains lightweight and compact, making it easy to transport and pack for on-the-go shoots.

A well built and useable tripod head!
The first thing that you notice with the Manbily tripod head is the quality finish and the black anodised aluminium with the red features really stands out enhancing the precision machining of all the parts. The tripod head is listed as "Mini" but while not too large to be clumsy, it is certainly more of a "Medium" with a ball size of around 1.5 inches. The head easily attaches to most "standard" tripods using the bottom 3/8" threaded hole and there is also a 3/8" to 1/4" adaptor to allow attachment to smaller amateur/hobby tripods or even other accessories. In use the ball head allows much quicker operation than the standard 3 way adjustments on most "lever" clamp heads though at a slight loss of accuracy, but this is only a slight niggle as the more compact desgin of the ball head takes up less room in the tripod bag.The movements are satisfyingly smooth and there is no imnpression that the camera is going to flop over at any point. Two Arca type quick release plates are supplied along with a threaded mobile phone holder.A well built and useable tripod head that will upgrade any mid-range tripod!

Very sturdy and well made!
This tripod ball head has been handy for panning and tilting our cameras/phones as we've created videos. It's very well made and has worked out well for our needs, allowing for minor adjustments without repositioning our tripod.

Brings Image Workflow Convenience at a Value.
With a roughly 1-1/2” Ball, I personally wouldn’t categorize this as “Mini,” when there are plenty of Ball Heads available with balls less that 1”. That said, I would categorize the Manbily Mini Ball Tripod Head as a terrific value, especially with a Ball of its size. The machining, finish and tolerances are impressive and the black and red anodized aluminum colorway is eye-catching; it has the look, feel and preciousness of quality workmanship. Furthermore, at 435 grams, just under a pound, it’s light weight makes it ideal for carrying on location. If I had a wish, though, it would be that the handle had a quick release. This would make the head that much more convenient to transport.Adjustability and orientation are, basically, infinite and with the added convenience of its Arca style QR plate, easy to use. On the body of the Manbily are three knobs: A ball locking knob, one for adjusting the dampening of the balls movements and a third, smaller one for locking/unlocking the rotation of the head along a calibrated reference scale. The upper, QR plate base, can also be rotated independently and is released or locked using the red lever. The QR plate is clamped in and tightened with the knob next to it. The seller refers to an adjustable grip, but it is hex screwed to the top plate of the head, so I am assuming they are referring to the correlation of its movements to that of the ball.In use, no matter what tension I used to adjust the dampening of the ball, it was never quite absolutely smooth through all of its movements. I can feel a slight amount of variance in the rolling tension as the head is reoriented. In my opinion it doesn’t interfere with the accurate positioning of an attached camera and is acceptable given the price point of the Manbily. The locked state of the Ball Head is secure but takes more than the finger tightening of more expensive ball heads. Again, acceptable and not a real issue in practical use. And although the included instructions delineate one of the larger knobs on the body is used for tensioning and the other for locking, in practice I found that they are interchangeable for those uses. The degree calibrated pan adjustment of the base is very smooth and has a nice dampening to the movement. Same for panning of the upper base plate, and both have tight, secure locking. The Manibly Ball Head comes with those thoughtful accessories that can be viewed on its Amazon page. These included two QR plates that makes switching out camera bodies convenient and quick, a mobile phone clamp that can be attached to a QR plate and two 3/8” to 1/4” screw in adaptors that allow you to attach the Ball Head directly to your current tripod head, as you would a camera. This makes it handy for a quick switch between tripod heads. That is the arrangement I use and is shown in the included pictures. In my opinion and experience using the Manbily Mini Ball Tripod Head, it is a very good value at its price point and can bring added convenience to an image making workflow. For these reasons and, moreover, my impression that the seller has represented it without exaggeration on the Amazon point of purchase page, I’ve given it 5-Stars.

Very Good For An Inexpensive Ball Head
The Manbily Ball Head is targeted towards amateur, aspiring photographers... and it provides a good mix of features and value to satisfy most of those in that target market. As someone who owns some high-end heads - it's difficult not to judge the economy models somewhat harshly... so I'll try to be gentle. The head is intended for use with smaller cameras, so the quick release plate is small but appropriate for the application. The plate has end stops to help protect your camera from falling if the clamp gets loose and the plate starts to slide. The ball, itself, is a little rough to get positioned properly... and uses two clamps rather than one of which to secure the ball. I'm sure that this provides enough security - but a better, single clamp would be preferable. As a result, this ball head seems more intended for panoramic shooting where the ball does not need to be adjusted during the image sequence capture. The base of the head has a nicely dampened collar with global positioning markers every 5 degrees and numerical references every 30 degrees. It also has a screw lock to secure it. Sadly, the lower portion does not have a bubble level, so using the lower portion to use for panoramas might be difficult if the tripod isn't on level ground. There is a bubble level on the top mount that holds the quick release plate - so the head is still useful when the tripod it not on level ground... but there are no numerical references to accompany the positioning markers - and the markers are just under the top mount making them difficult to see.The handle that is attached to the top mount is not easy to remove... and it's certainly not designed to be routinely removed - which also reinforces my belief that this head is intended primarily for panoramic image capture. The head is designed to accommodate portrait orientation as the lower portion is notched to allow the top mount to swing down 90 degrees. Another bubble level mounted on the side of the top mount can then be used to level the head. While there are shortcomings to this setup - there remains many features of which someone can make good use without breaking the bank. Panoramic sequences can be tricky to get perfect even when using high-end gear - and this is a good place to start the learning process.

This Tripod Ball Head Is An Excellent Value
I use quite a few tripod ball heads for my photography. I actually mount them onto surveyor’s tripods for doing photography in the outdoors (I have found that surveyor’s tripods are more stable in my outdoor environment than traditional photography tripods which often require sandbags). I often mount multiple cameras at different angles on my subject. This ball head is wonderful and a great value for the price. And, bonus… the plate also fits my other tripod heads, so I don’t have to keep switching plates on the cameras. Here are the reasons I like it:(1) I can adjust the camera in any angle and the ball head includes two leveling bubbles.(2) The dials adjust easily and lock into place. The metal unit is well made.(3) The plate can be used in other tripod mounts and is not proprietary to this product.(4) The unit is light weight, but can hold up to 17.6 pounds. (This is great if you have a large heavy lens on the camera).(5) The mount came with one extra plate so I can have multiple cameras set up and ready to swap out without having to mess around with changing the plate. There is also a phone holder with this, but I won’t be using that.Overall, really nice product. I give it 5 stars.
