love this cleanser, will buy a bigger bottle next time
doesn't make my scalp feel "squeaky clean" but also doesnt get oily or greasy too quickly, currently trying to take care of my curls and this definitely made my hair feel moisturised and more curly

Perfect if you have an oily scalp and dry ends
I absolutely love this shampoo. My hair gels oily quite quickly, but also feels quite dry on the ends. I’ve been stuck trying to find a shampoo, as half of them make my hair feel so stripped and dry and the others don’t feel like they clean my hair properly. I ran across this product and thought I’d buy the smaller size to give it a go, especially since the price is quite affordable. When washing the shampoo out my scalp felt hydrated and clean instead of the usual dry, squeaky clean feeling I usually get. My hair also feels generally much softer than normal, but still clean. Maybe even more fresh and clean that it used to. I have 2b-2c low porosity hair and I feel like this shampoo has supported my wave formation through its hydration. I was nervous to use a shampoo advertised as ‘moisturising’ on my oily scalp, but it’s the first I’ve ever used where you aren’t compromising on effectively cleansing your hair for moisture. It also smells natural and lovely. The only potential downside is that my hair still gets oily as quickly as it used to when I was using a more stripping shampoo. I hoped it would produce less when it’s hydrated, but that may just be the way my hair works. Overall I would highly recommend to people who have an oily scalp and dry ends, as this shampoo works perfectly for both issues.

Not a fan
I didn't like this shampoo. I had to use a lot to feel like it was actually cleaning my hair. Maybe that has to do with the lack of sulphates and silicones? (But all my shampoos lack those and don't feel like the Curlsmith cleanser.) It was not very foaming as it claims to be and I did not find that my hair had any more moisture as a result of using this cleanser and the matching conditioner.

Greasy
I really wanted this to work for my curls but unfortunately it makes my scalp greasy.

Good product
I use this product once a week, and then every four to five weeks I follow up with a clarifying shampoo. I really like this product because it isn’t very drying. Since it doesn’t strip the hair, you won’t get that “squeaky clean” feeling that some of us are used to and might even expect to know our hair is clean. But trust me, it still does the job beautifully. My hair always feels clean, soft, and not stripped at all.

After living in Italy, and I came upon the realization that I have to find hair products that work for me again. Italy has a brand called Epura that was amazing for me. Can I get it in the USA? No. I'm glad they have travel sizes, because my wallet has been hurting trying to find a brand that won't give me skin issues and works well for me. I was already using Curlsmith's leave-in conditioner and hydro-flexi gel. Those bottles last me about 3-4 months. I'm going to tell you this cleanser works very well and in conjunction with their conditioner. My waves were forming on their own in the shower. I'm Day 3 or 4 (night shift worker). While my roots are a little greasy, and usually they are worse. My brushed out waves are still frizz free and looking fine. A little cornstarch for roots, or I'll start with an oil mask for the cleangirl look for an extra day will be just fine. I have plenty of volume still. Curlsmith does it right. Type 2 (wavy), fine, and dense hair with random straight pieces of hair and random barrel/ringlet curls. (Who gave me those genetics?!) The only gripe that I have is that this is $10 more for a full size bottle($25-27) than what I am used to paying....but I digress. I'll take it because it works and I don't have skin issues from it like: dandruff, welts, redness, burning, or itching. My wallet is gonna hurt a litttle, but if I can go 4-5 days without washing my hair then I don't mind as much.

I’m testing this now and it seems to be very moisturizing. I only purchased a sample size and it seems to be going a long way. I’m not sure if my wavy curly hair type is the right type for this cleanser, but I’ll keep testing.

I have to use a medicated shampoo on my scalp, which alone would wreck my curls. Using this on the hair keeps them bouncy and healthy.

I’ve been having issues lately with changes in my 3a curly hair. I live in Florida and once the weather cooled off my hair went flat. I read good reviews for these products and decided to give them a try. I am very happy I did! I bought the Essentials shampoo, conditioner and weightless air dry cream. My hair feels much cleaner and curls are back!! I had to experiment with the amount of weightless air cream, but once I did my curls came bouncing back!! HIGHLY RECOMMEND
