What a beautiful surprise! I devoured it! Since, I love, Lila DiPasqua’s Fiery Tales series, her new novella THE PRINCESS AND THE DIAMONDS, kept my interest, until the very last page. Based on the popular fairy tale The Princess & the Pea, this author, added her personal touch of eroticism, to give her writing an erotic feeling! She nicely blended her historical romance with two passionate characters, Mathias and Gabrielle.When they first meet, Mathias finds Gabrielle very intriguing and irresistible! The chemistry between the two is sizzling!! Sparks flare all over! A romantic story filled with well written steamy love scenes and passion!When you start this novella, you won't be able to stop. It’s a real page turner, even if it’s a short novella! You will enjoy every minutes of it. I will surely watch for Ms. DiPasqua’s next story and I highly recommend it. If you don't mind spicy love scenes, then you are in for a treat! The author managed to create two beautiful characters and an interesting plot with enough twists and turns to keep it from being to obvious.This was an excellent historical romance. Plenty of sex and love!!

Lila's books are always on pre-order for me because I cannot miss one. Love all the stories she writes and this one is no exception. She draws you in and you feel for the characters. Gabrielle is trying to help her family and Mathias is trying to help his king. They are on opposites sides and have secrets neither wants to share. Gabrielle finds herself in a bind and decides to give herself to Mathias. He's quite surprised but takes her up on the offer. The love scenes are quite steamy and they have great chemistry. I couldn't wait to finish to see how it all turned out. Do not miss out on this one - and pick up all the other Fiery Tales while you are at it.

This is a great story of a strong woman, Princess Gabrielle is the illegitimate daughter of the King of France. He has outlawed and forbidden the card game Basset. Her half-brother has gambled and lost a large sum, which she is determined to win back in this illegal game and ”borrows” some of diamonds to gamble with.Mathias, the Marquis of de Montfort is out for revenge after the death of his best friend who lost everything to the game of Basset, leaving a wife and young child. He is recruited to help bring down those hosting the game and starts with the Duc de Navers.Gabrielle attends one of these games in disguise and Mathias immediately knows that she is a woman . . . . the fun begins there. This is a nice, quick read that had me hooked from the start and a great addition to the fiery tales.

The king has made it illegal to gamble but it's still going on, Mathias is helping get the names of all the men gambling in one of the top card rooms until a woman comes in disguised as a man trying to play with diamonds instead of money. Gabrielle is one of the kings daughters and she is playing cards, trying to win enough to cover her brother's debt, but she is gambling with the king's diamonds. Mathias knows that she is a woman and confronts her and their hot affair begins, he can't keep her from going to the gambling salon until he finally tells her the truth to save her from being arrested along with all the other players. But then she disappears and he has no idea who she really is.

This is a good addition to the Fiery Tales series, with a likeable couple. I especially liked that they were both trying to do the right thing. She was trying to help her brother, and he was trying to stop illegal gambling that was ruining lives. They both had secrets, but it worked out great when they were finally revealed. My only complaint is that I would have liked an epilogue, to find out if they were still happy a few years later.

I love the erotic fairy tales that Lila rights. It is your childhood redone for adults. I have read all of them and I understand she is almost finished with the series. That will be sad as we all love them and looked forward to each new addition. Thank you Ms. DiPasqua for making us smile again as adults and enjoy going back to our youth in a much more fun way.
