Thought for the price it was worth the gamble of all the bad reviews vs buying a new kindle and glad I did! I installed it easily and immediately charged it up before powering on. (it powered itself on at first but I turned it back off) I have so far had no problem and it appears that the battery lasts like the original one from amazon. I have had it stored in my travel bag for many weeks without use and it still showed a full charge so I am very happy that it is working like I had hoped it would so far. If something changes I'll update my review but hopefully that won't be necessary.

This is the second battery that I have replaced in my old Kindle. As of now it holds a charge for weeks depending on how much I use the device. There are plenty of videos online on how to change the battery. The tools provided to open the back of the Kindle were somewhat low quality. The pry bar started to deteriorate almost immediately and was difficult to use. But in the end it did the job and I don't plan to have to open it up again for years to come. I've had the battery in the Kindle for over a month now and it is working perfectly.

Normally, I try my very best to find something nice to say. However, with this battery I have nothing to say that is nice. Simply put I have been charging my Kindle keyboard with this battery since July 16th, and lo and behold IT DOES NOT WORK. I can read one paragraph and the book locks up, and must recharge. Please do not think that I did not follow the suggestion of charging it to full power, and then again. How many times I have done this since July 16th let’s see 20 days! It is not a good value of money, it is easy to install, and does not work.

Hello, I replaced this in my Kindle with keyboard a few months ago. I've charged it a few times since. It keeps charge great. It included everything I needed to get it replaced. The battery seems high quality. For me the charge last for weeks. Watch out when removing the screws from the back of the original battery, you will need them to secure this one with them. I recommend putting them in a small bowl. When I was replacing mine... The screws got knocked off the desk, and I had to pull some new screws from old electronics. I would recommend this battery for your Kindle. A+

Everyone should know by now that buying replacement knock-off batteries on Amazon is a crapshoot. They tend to have exaggerated mAh capacities, sold as "new", don't have the same battery cell longevity, bad or missing safety protection, etc. Usually it's an acceptable tradeoff as the battery still works well enough at a far cheaper price. In this case, as some other reviews mentioned, this battery weighs far less than the original one which already indicates the battery capacity is suspect. The original battery weighs 1.8 oz. This battery weighs 1.4 oz. There is no date code on the label to indicate when the battery was manufactured (or remanufactured) The plastic pry tool that comes with this is pure garbage - just throw it away and use something else. It's not sturdy enough to actually pry open the back and will just disintegrate. I used a pry tool from my own tool kit. That said, the battery is working so far. It's only been 2 days so I can't give a better review of usage time but I'll update if it's significantly worse.

I haven't used my kindle in a long time, but wanted to bring it on vacation so I could read near the pool. So, I attempted to charge it only to find out it would no longer hold a charge. I picked this battery kit because it was one of the cheapest options and had decent reviews. I was able to quickly install it (I had opened the kindle case prior to receiving the battery so I didn't use the included tool) and my kindle has been working great ever since. I had to charge it a couple weeks ago before vacation and I haven't charged it since even though I use it every day for at least 30 minutes at a time. Last night I checked it and it was still above 75% full. Excellent choice if you are still using your kindle! Note: My review is based on only having it a few weeks. If my opinion changes I will update this review.

Fit perfectly inside my Kindle Keyboard Gen 3 to keep it going! Very easy to open the back of the Kindle and install. Plenty of videos on YouTube tell you how to do it. Tool kit was perfect.
