Yes. My jars had a 3 inch opening. I used 2 braids for each jar (2 wicks). One wick should be fine for each of your jars. You will need the metal bases to attach to the bottom of your jar.

Q: Does this kind of wick...which I assume is a medium width....work with beeswax candles?

I bought these to use in the beeswax/coconut oil candles I made and actually had trouble with them not melting the wax completely/evenly. It may work if you're making small votive or tea light candles, but I personally wouldn't recommend it on anything bigger. I even used 3 wicks in one candle (maybe 3-4 inches in diameter) and it still didn't work.

Q: Will this work for birthday candles?

Square Braid Cotton Candle Wick #4/0 is best used with candles 1/2" in diameter. It is too thick for use with traditional birthday candles.
