Well built. Sharp outta the box but I ran a diamond hone and strop to really get it sharp. Nice weight and profile.Have not used it yet.

Good heft and balance, fits well in the hand, edge is coated in a protective layer that will come off when using or sharpening. Overall a great value for the cost.

Best hatchet I've ever owned

I selected this axe because of the shape, the shape and length of the handle, and the forged high carbon steel hardness. The axe arrived in good condition overall. The handle is well made with no finish, but a quick, light sanding and an application of linseed oil brought it to my preferred condition. I did have to reshape the axe edge to my desired shape but fortunately I had the equipment and supplies to do that easily. Sharpening the axe by hand with just stones would have been very labor intensive due to the amount of material to be removed and the hardness of the steel (which I liked). The sheath was very well made. After the initial preparation I put it to use for short time and found the edge did not roll or chip in use. It seemed to maintain the razor-sharp edge very well and I look forward to some serious work with it.

Works great. The handle is oddly shiny but I strip and resurface all of mine anyway so it's not a big issue.

I use this around the cabin and keep it in my four wheeler,I like the design and the steel used to make it ,the head attachment was a disappointment as the head fell off the first time I used it

Handle could be smoother. I expect to have to sharpen things these days but be warned, this thing is hard. There is room behind the blade for big hands, which is surprising. Good product, well worth the money.
