Golden Groundhog TCG Deck Box Including 100 Assorted Cards (8 Reverse Foil Cards + 92 Common/Uncommon Cards)

100 cards; only 34 different characters. My 6 year-old daughter is just getting into Pokemon so I'm fairly new to this and don't know if getting a package of mostly duplicates is a normal thing. I understand that "assorted" doesn't mean "no duplicates" but when the package has 6-7 copies of the same card, it is kind of disappointing. Also, just FYI, our set was all BASIC cards and did NOT include any Trainer cards, NO energy cards, and NO evolution cards. So, definitely not a starter pack or a package for someone just getting into Pokemon (like my daughter). That said, cards are in good shape and seem of good quality. We're new to this so I have no idea if they're fake or not, but my daughter is happy to have cards (and duplicates are not an entirely bad thing) so it wasn't a waste of money. Would have appreciated a more accurate or compete description, though, so 3 stars.

Normally I don't give bad reviews but out of 100 cards, I only got 22 different types of cards. Most had 6 or 8 of each card. I also got no energy cards. A regular deck can't have more than 3 of each card so why give so many duplicates? Honestly, I would have rather go out and buy several booster packs over this. I would have gotten more useful cards that way.

First, let me say that I don’t know anything about the Pokémon card game. So I don’t know many of the characters or their values/worth. I have played Pokémon Go, but there is only a few names that I recognize from that in this deck. None of the major/popular characters are in this pack. I bought these for my 6 year old (who also doesn’t know how to play the card game) because she wanted cards to take to school to show off/trade with her friends. So for that reason I say the value vs. the price is excellent. Secondly, it says that there is supposed to be 8 reverse foils included and we only received 7. Also, that box they make sure to play up in the description is just that, a paper box, much like you would get a deck of cards in, it is nothing that will last beyond a 6 year old trying to open it a few times before it rips. Our pack included 14 exact duplicate cards, one character in particular we got 4 of the exact same card. Others were the same characters, but different moves of whatever they’re called. All in all, not too bad considering some of the reviews I read beforehand.

My son loved his pack of cards. He’s 10 years old and seemed to know what every card was. We only got a few repeats but he did find one rare card that he just sold for $500!!! A lot of the cards are older cards but they’re in perfect condition.

Cards are decent; genuine but older generations mostly--some very old. Some duplicates 7 different sets of them accounting for a about a fithnof the cards. But they were decent ones to get duplicates of. Some were just different artwork and stats from different generations. I was disappointed that they did not keep the commitment of 10 foils but 8. One was surprisingly a trainer foil, kind of cool. Got 11 different kinds of Pokemon though. Great variety.Bought this for my kids and I to expand our basic decks for playing and collecting. Also thinking of using this for a start up school game club, for kids who don't have their own. The value for the money depends on what you want to do. Most of these cards were not the best to play against newer overpowered decks. They may randomly be good for traders or collectors but probably beat for those who casually like to collect and like a variety of play.

I ordered these for my son for Christmas. I was expecting a lot of repeats, but I think there were only a few out of 100 which I thought was pretty good. I do not know a lot about Pokémon so I cannot attest to how great of value they actually are. They were real, not fake. There were different things, like locations, powers, etc. not just characters. I am very pleased with this purchase for the price.

I got these for a surprise gift for my daughter, and although at first she seemed overwhelmed by the amount of cards, I think she does enjoy looking through them. I did not realize Pokemon was making a comeback, but she admitted that there is a game being played at school that we should all learn- so one of these days, I will have to learn about a game I didn't know how to play when I was her age. Anyway, these seem to be great, they were all wrapped nicely together and nothing was ripped or stuck to another card. Really neat idea of your little person for a gift, or for a stocking stuffer.
