Deadbolt Guard Door Lock Security - Magnet Version (Black/Satin Nickel)

I'm very impressed with this item. It's simple and easy to use. Looks good and does what it claims. On a metal door, it sticks to the door when not in use and this helps remind me to use it- rather than sitting it to the side or something. There's a magnet included in case it doesn't stick to your lock but you could also use this magnet to get it to stick to a non-metal door for storage when not in use (assuming it already sticks to your lock). It does what it says- prevents the deadbolt from turning so even someone with a key won't be getting in. While I know it's marketed for use while you're home (and that's a great use), I got this to secure a back door both when I'm home and away. You likely use one main entrance for your home so go ahead and secure the back or side doors with a little extra protection- as many break ins are going to be at those side and back doors- away from the street or main entrance. I've seen some other products that would be as effective for a bit less cost- but you have to install on the door frame. This item requires no installation and can even be taken along when you're traveling.

I strongly recommend this product! Support was amazing, too! We had an unusual set up, so LOKmate initially did not fit. So I've contacted them for return with reason and a pic. However, they offered to make one that would fit in ours!! They've sent new custom made one right away!! I was very surprised! They even picked a color that would match more to our door without asking, too! It works perfectly.They are trying to make this product to work 100% for the deadbolts out there. I was fascinated about their seriousness and effort to this product!This is compact enough to put in your bag and carry with you when you travel. Also, very easy to set up and remove. So as other reviewer mentioned, when we have to open the door in rush, we don't have to worry about time!Again, this is a perfect small device for extra security to have anywhere you go, and I recommend everyone to purchase this product!!

It looks chincy in the pictures: it isn’t. I almost passed on this in favor of a $300 smartlock—but I am glad I didn’t because it seems like the mechanism by which this lock and the smartlock work are the same; except this one is analog and the smart lock can be controlled digitally (and takes more trouble to install since the inside lock has to be replaced).With this lock, nothing has to be removed or replaced. I literally just slip this mechanism on my lock, and fold the handle over and it’s done—and it’s enough of a deterrent in my mind that I sleep more easily.What’s also cool: this is reversible. So all I did was flip this mechanism the other way for my door since my door lock is on the left and the door jam on the right—and it works exactly the same.I was very briefly confused about how to attach it the first time I tried. But the company does have a site with a video (the written directions were strangely difficult for me to understand—I don’t know if I was just exhausted or if the directions were unnecessarily obtuse). But it really is as easy as slipping the flat hook over the bolt (of the deadbolt lock) in the door jam, and just swinging the “cage” of the mechanism over to fit the lock.My cage looks “loose” like it’s gonna fall off the lock. But it doesn’t! The handle that locks the cage into place also goes over the deadbolt lock and it prevents the mechanism from falling off. Even excessive banging on the door didn’t jiggle it off.This baby is so light and compact that I’d totally travel with this and feel way more peace of mind, too.

I used this product until one day it did not work. Luckly it was someone that lives at the house that was entering through the front door when I had placed it on the lock and when that person walked in, to my suprise, I asked if he did anything diffrent to unlock the door? He said no and so we had him go outside and demonstrate and without any trouble he was able to turn his key and the magnets did not hold at all and the device fell to the floor. So, I lost the ability to return the item for refund because I had used it for about one year and to think that all this time, it would have not protected me from an ilegal entry to my home! Do not buy this for your safety. It will not protect you.

This product works as designed. Slip this over your deadbolt for an extra layer of door lock protection. I've read some reviews that stated this deadbolt door lock security did not stick with provided magnets. Before purchasing this product, test your dead bolt with a magnet. Our dead bolt door lock stuck tight to the dead bolt. The question I have the the long term durability of this product.

This compact device was just slightly too small for my oversized lock. I notified the seller, thinking I'd have to return it. Instead, the seller offered to send me another, slighter larger one. Very impressed by the wonderful customer service that was provided.I am a night owl, and I live in a multi-apt building. I use this device as a precaution, in case an early morning maintenance worker inadvertently mistook my apt for another. So, it's for extra security when I sleep. It's so simple to place on my door, and I take it off first thing when I get up. I have to give this amazing device a perfect 5 stars! I'm very pleased.

I liked this product. It was easy to place on the door lock each night. I felt with the magnets it wouldn't fall off the lock if the door was jiggled. The magnets were also helpful to hang it from a metal coat hook during the day when it was not needed. After using nightly for about a month the magnets have pulled out and are stuck to the lock. I can still use the guard but its disappointing that the magnets have some loose.
