Wonderful Kit!
Wonderful Kit! Built this after an absence of making models for over 30 years and highly recommend this one. The added extra of the LED lights is a very nice touch! This comes in several colours so you could make this without painting...but for a more professional outcome I did and reccomend you do the following...1) - Paint the lower hull, as the red plastic it comes in I think is slightly too dark, also paint the funnels as these come in an orange plastic so I did these in a yellow which looks better.2) - Try to source a photo etched woodern deck - this was absolutely @$!@! To fit to the model...but the result looks awesome....much better than the plastic look.3) - Follow the LED instructions carefully and it will go well and work! I've heard some stories these are difficult but as long as you take note of each stage it will be fine, I wired mine in 10 mins and all ok first time.4) - Some larger parts you can get away without gluing so you can gain access to the lights at a later date if need be.5) - Try and source a metal engraved name plate for the stand, mine cost only around £2 off ebay and looks alot better.6) - There is a row of port holes that runs along just below the middle deck, these have not been tooled out. So I used a micro drill set and drilled all of these out both sides and also on the white strip on the bow and stern, this not only let's the LED through but also adds to the lighting effect.7) - I have put some tissue paper between the LEDs and the portholes, this defused the light better once the model is complete and seems yo help spread the light evenly all along the ship. All in all if your looking for a Titanic model in a smaller size go for this one! You can spend as little or as long as you want as there is the option to add to this for a better outcome. Not easy easy to build but the result is very rewarding.

Great 1/700 scale model of Titanic
A 1/700 illuminated LED model of the RMS Titanic. Detail is generally excellent for the scale, and the LED illuminations look good. Very easy to assemble, although the lighting may take some concentration! Despite being mostly pre-painted, some extra painting is required for some parts (the orange funnels are worth repainting into the correct yellow!). Also the propeller shafts will need to be painted red.

Excellent value
Loved it, hard to build but carry on, it's worth it.

Fiddly
The finished product looks fab but some of the pieces are very small and fiddly. My 11 year old completed it with very little help

Disappointing and disillusioning. Tiny parts broke when being detached from the storage frame.
My son (11) was very excited to get this today but was in tears a few minutes later as some of the tiny parts broke as he tried to detach them from the frame. Right now he's quite disillusioned but we're going to sit down and do our best to make as much as we can together.

Good Model
I think this model is definitely for an older child and may need a adult help as parts are very small. It is a gorgeous model though
