Yoga During Pregnancy: Without Prior Yoga Exp

Differnent but good
I have only tried one yoga pregnancy video so I can't really rate this based on others, but I would say it is a good yoga workout. I am used to doing beginners yoga with the traditional poses, so this is really really easy stuff. I was a little bored at first but it doesn't focus on 20 different poses as much as it focues on breathing, relaxation, and meditation. I really found it was a good way to unwind after a crazy day and refocus on my baby. Some of the poses are for birthing purposes too, so I found joy in that as well as I prepare for my delivery. Overall I would say it is a basic video for the first time yoga student. If you do yoga already before pregnancy you may be bored with this.

Simple, efficient, but a bit long
I'm a life-long athlete whom has been working out diligently even throughout my pregnancy, but I have always struggled with flexibility and I know it's something I need to get through the last trimester and labor. Based on reviews, this dvd sounded most suitable for me. I would definitely agree that for someone with no yoga background, this is easy to follow with no radical movements, and it also makes you feel more relaxed while getting a good stretch. Some movements are challenging to get full range of motion, but if you have any flexibility at all, you shouldn't struggle with them like me. I really like this dvd; I just wish it was shorter so I could fit it into my busy lifestyle more often--an entire hour of solace and peace is hard to come by sometimes!

Really nice peacefull workout
I recieved my video and that evening did the entire workout. It was great because i was able to really stretch and it made my back feel better, however i have a small amount of yoga experience but not enough that i would have bought her other video for "prior yoga experience" and this video even gave me a little trouble. my legs definatly felt it the next day. But it was all in all easy and all the breathing exercises really makes you peaceful! So yes i would recommend this but be prepared for a nice leg workout lol! I love it and it will become a part of my regular workout now!

Be prepared for a workout!
My Ob/Gyn suggested I try Yoga to help with some of the pain I've been having since becoming pregnant. I have ZERO experience with Yoga and so I picked this DVD specifically because it said "without prior yoga exp". As far as having no experience...the moves are VERY well explained. How to breathe, how to move, it really can't be explained any better than they do on this DVD. That being said, if you have no yoga experience be prepared to WORK. WOW! My muscles feel very used right now but also very soft in a good way. I would recommend this DVD for sure but don't expect it to be easy at first :)

Very Relaxing, but..
It's really simple and relaxing, but you still feel like you're getting a good work out. Some of the things were a little difficult for me because my knees hurt so bad and some of the things I just don't see being possible when you're nearing the end of your pregnancy. I'm 16 weeks now and have a little trouble with some of it, I can't imagine when my belly gets bigger. But all in all, I enjoy the work out I get and feel very relaxed when I'm done.

Very soothing
This video is very soothing and easy to follow for anyone that has not done yoga. It has a lot of breathing and slow movements which at first bothered me, because I was wanting more yoga moves. Once I did the workout a couple times I realized that it is focusing you and getting you ready for labor and the cleansing breathes and slow movements are all your going to try to focus on when your in so much pain. It's a great DVD and I highly recommend it.

Boring if you've EVER done yoga before
I've done yoga off and on over the past few years, but would not consider myself advanced in any way. I mostly practice at home every few months with a dvd.I thought this would be a good relaxation method during pregnancy, but found myself bored stiff and had to stop doing to dvd halfway through. I much preferred:Yoga for Pregnancy, Labor and Birth with Colette Crawford orElement: Prenatal & Postnatal Yoga. Both of which are VERY easy for beginners but seemed both more engaging (I felt stretched and more flexible afterwards) as well as more relaxing, since I wasn't looking at the clock every 10 seconds wondering when it would be over.

Great starter Yoga tape for pregnancy
I really enjoyed this DVD. The Yoga seems deceivingly easy but I definitely felt the effects the next day in a good way. It is a great starter for wanting to start yoga without any experience. They also are very conscious and aware of the needs of pregnant woman by telling you to go at your own pace when needed. I highly recommend this one.

All you need
I ordered this DVD as a present to a colleague as I have watched and tried it already with my sister who also used it during her pregnancy. This is the only DVD I would recommend from the range as someone who does Yoga on a daily base. What you will get is a chilled-out, safe and calm Yoga session. The exercises are well explained, easy to follow and it leaves enough time for you to put your mind to the relationship between you and your baby. Yoga is as much mental activity as physical and that's exactly the training you need when you prepare for giving birth to the one you love the most.Enjoy your session as we enjoy it everytime we put in this DVD.

Didn't enjoy
Maybe I will like this DVD better when I am further along, but my first impressions weren't very good. I didn't like how this is supposed to be for people with no prior experience, but she doesn't explain any of the moves and how they should be feeling. For some of the moves I just wasn't flexible enough and as a pregnant person, she could give advice such as" if this is too much do it like this". She never references the baby and how to do the moves safely if you are feeling uncomfortable and as someone without prior experience I don't know what is normal to be feeling and then to add a pregnant belly that I am still protective of... I just felt this wasn't for me, But maybe when I am in my 3rd trimester and feeling more comfortable in my new body I will give it another chance. As for right now, I feel this was a waste of my money.Hope this helps some of you.

I felt a little like I was interrupting her personal yoga session lol
She is very "into it" in the video. I felt a little like I was interrupting her personal yoga session lol. Might be good for more avid yoga-ers, but as a beginner, it was a weird vibe.

Routine Too long
Routine is too long, and French translation is horrible. I had never practiced yoga and it was a little too advanced for me. I'll try it later, when I am more experienced thanks to Element Yoga.

Super DVD
