This author and book was recommended to me by a mentor who is assisting me with job hunting. The book has detailed chapters with steps for each chapter. It is easy to follow, up to date, and has additional resources. I'd recommend it to anyone who would like to update their resume or is job hunting.

Must have!
This is the 3rd book I have purchased from this author over my career, and to say they have been helpful, is an understatement. I like how they are a very easy read and broken into so many small sections, that you can pick and choose the areas you require help and read those sections, versus the need to read the entire book. The questions and answers are very easy to understand and I love how he even gives examples to help you in your own thought process. This book is a must have

Showing its age, but the information is generally solid
The first time I read and used this book was over 30 years ago now, and this is now my third time purchasing it. The book is aging, there's no denying that. Back in the early 1990s what you read in this book very much reflected the corporate culture of the time. Today even the most straightlaced of companies would find some of the language to be stilted and recommendations to be old-fashioned; it's as if your boomer uncle is giving your job hunting advice. However, it's like your boomer uncle is giving you *very good* job hunting advice, so even when you're slightly rolling your eyes and how Unca Martin phrases something you're nodding your head at the same time. This book won't get you a job you're not qualified for, or a job you don't want, and even if you somehow do get into one of those jobs you won't be there long. This book *will* help you learn how to best present yourself to show employers that you have the technical and transferable skills to get the job done and the attitude, confidence, and team commitment to be really valued. All that for ten bucks. Buy this book, a pad of paper, and a pack of pens, then get ready to sit down and take *lots* of notes. It will pay off. Thanks, Unca Martin.

Wonderful Resource
Great book for just about anyone these days. This book has so much in it. It presents strategies on how to approach a 'digital' job-market. It is also quite blunt in what each person's responsibilities are on the job and beyond. This book strongly states the responsibilities each individual must accept to succeed. I have read many self-help books with less workable advice.Strongly recommend for anyone who is looking for work, may have to look for work soon, or just wants a book that will bluntly state the realities of today's economic situation, while providing strategies to help manage your way through it all.Thank you!

When you don't know what to do, get this book
I had been in a job search much akin to a boat without a rudder. I was applying for anything and everything without knowing what targeting resumes were. I was running around in circles. I got very little results until now. I purchased Knock 'em Dead: The Ultimate Job Search Guide and it immediately gave my job search a sense of directed purpose. Before, when I didn't know how to proceed to later where I know exactly how to conduct a job search. I highly recommend this book to anyone that needs to conduct a highly efficient job search.

An All-In-One Career Management Guide
This book is very thorough and pretty much an all-in-one encyclopedia to career management. My mother had the original Knock Em Dead from about 30 years ago and this book literally took me from only being about a 3 from a scale of 1-10 to an 9 on a scale of 1-10 as an interviewee. This book also helps me as a career coach and advisor to people of all ages. Instead of getting different books on how to craft a resume or cover letter and how to answer touch or illegal questions, what to wear, how negotiate your salary--this book pretty much has everything covered!

If You're Looking To Change Careers (or start one) Buy This Book!
Very eye opening about what to expect when you are job searching. You see, I've been self-employed for 14 years. I earned an MBA 4 years ago and now I'd like to put it use. However, I always thought I was "unemployable." It turns out, I'm not. Yate's book has shown me how to pick a career I'll like, re-write my resume, structure it in a manner for it to show up in the search results AND how to ace the interview. Nice!
