Total fun! Bookcases are plastic, not paper, that solidly snap together. The double-sided tape, while stronger than some: How long will it last? (Had to glue the chair.) Sometimes, I needed mouse paws, rather than human hands though. But, the attention to the designer’s detail & instructions impressed me over & over.

One of my absolute favorite past times! I have purchased several of these DIY kits and I have enjoyed each and every one! I will definitely be purchasing more scenes to add to my growing collection! Definitely recommend for older teens and or adults, pieces are tiny, some, and very fragile. Well worth effort, time and money!

This is a great pandemic project if you have free time. I made this over a two month period. Each step took two to three times as long as I thought it would. This project gave me the feeling of accomplishing something for the day as I finished each piece. This kit is very clever and someone’s labor of love. Mine had all the pieces. There were a few very slightly warped wooden pieces but nothing that was a problem. I was concerned about whether there would be enough glue so I used my own Elmer’s Glue All to make all the paper, and paper and wood books. I was glad I did this. There are a lot of books! I think the Elmer’s Glue was easier to use anyway for paper. The project glue in my kit was very good with the wood and metal parts, as well as paper, and did not have a smell. I also was very glad I had a small desktop battery operated OttLite with a magnifier on it. Here are my recommendations. 1. Read through the whole instruction book carefully before you begin. 2. Make the wood and paper books first thing while you are enthusiastic. This would have been a drag at the end. 3. Do not make the first large bookcase in the instructions first. It is the most complicated. Instead begin with an easy one like cabinet 5. 4. Verify the parts for each piece with the part number illustration papers. Very important. Also, it may have guide marks you need to make on the wood. 5. Fit the pieces together before gluing to figure out where to put the glue and to be sure you’ve got it right. 6. This project takes a LOT of patience. 7. If you are not patient, or if you are a perfectionist (this is not perfect), or if it bothers you it is made of wood, paper and cloth do not buy this. 8. Do not buy this for a child. Even at 14 I think the child would get very frustrated and perhaps lose interest due to how much work is involved. 9. The paint will not give you a solid white wall. It will look a bit rustic. I tried artists’ tube acrylic white paint and it did not work either. I finally used artists’ white gesso but I don’t recommend buying it if you don’t have any. 10. The kit comes in a great box for storing the project parts. 11. The lamp! It will work if you put it together right. I just didn’t have the skill. I would say it takes a person experienced with doing this kind of thing. I read the instructions many times and examined parts and tried very hard. I ended up cutting off the wires and just fabricating the lamp which was hard enough. I spend 9 hours over three days. I glued it in place. Once I had the bookcases filled, I thought it didn’t look good – too large for the scale and very busy. So I removed it. 12. The end product is very cute.

This set was a lot of fun to build! It was my first time ever doing something like this. Instructions could have been more detailed but overall not bad. I was missing batteries and was confused by the light instructions so I skipped that part. Also ran out of glue so had to buy more, which wasn’t a big deal. Overall really happy and proud of how this turned out!

DiY Library. Very cute. A lot of different pieces. You don't have to build all the furniture. It's actually whatever you want to build. If you build all the furniture it is a packed room and you have to build more books to fill all of the shelves. There are several different ways to set this up. I wish I would have known this in the beginning. My husband helped build alot of these pieces for me. The books are basically little square pieces of wood various sizes and you cut and glue the paper templates on them. I actually had scrap pieces of material that I made some covers out of and used some extra jewelry and button pieces to make accent pieces on the books. I also used spray paint for the walls and the floor. You can completely customize this to however you like. This is a perfect rainy day project and I absolutely adore this piece. It is very time consuming and tedious, but once you finish, it's well worth it.

This was my first one and I loved making it. As others have said the chair was very difficult and I gave up and ditto with the chandelier.

This kit was really fun to make! The instructions are clear and it comes with all the things you need - other than a few tools such as a ruler and scissors. The only negative I can say is I found that I ran out of glue right at the end while I was assembling everything. One thing I love about these kits is that you can either make a replica of what’s in the picture or you can make it your own. For this particular one, I chose to change a few things. I really hated the flooring that came with this one, so I did my own. I also did my own walls. I wasn’t crazy about the red chair, so I changed that too. Another thing I did was use my own pictures to personalize it a bit. Overall, I highly recommend this kit to anyone who likes crafting and miniatures. It is very detailed and requires patience, but the end result is well worth it!

When I saw this "cozy corner" model with books all over the place, I decided I had to make this myself. I had never tackled a model like this before--you have to assemble EVERYTHING from the flower petals to the book covers to the furniture to the pictures on the walls. It was a lot of fun, although occasionally it was frustrating because of my big, clumsy fingers. My only negative comment would be that the light fixture was, for me, impossible to assemble. I worked and worked and worked on it and finally gave up and just used "twinkle lights" on the ceiling. The model is also nice because you can arrange the books, furniture, etc., any way you like so your creation is unique. I wish I could find a cozy nook like this and have hot chocolate in my left hand and Agatha Christie on my lap--aaah, perfection!

Really wanted to like this but a big disappointment. Every wooden piece larger than 1" was terribly warped and bent, making it impossible to assemble. Tried to flatten, use clamps etc but it's no use. The rest of the kit is nice but yeah, too bad about the wooden parts.

The product is nice, but the pieces don’t fit together as they’re supposed to and the instructions are awful! If you’re not used to miniature rooms, I wouldn’t suggest this product as it’s a lot of guessing.

This project was so much fun! Really cute! I will warn you, it’s not for people who don’t like getting their hands dirty and problem solving. I had a piece of my shelf that came warped and had to get creative.. but all in all, I’m very happy with this purchase and will be getting another! 👍🏻
