A nice teleprompter but might be on the small side for some applications.
This LENSGO TC7S mobile phone teleprompter allows you to read text whilst looking at the camera that is recording you, using just a couple of mobile phones. The text goes on a smartphone and is saved as a text file that is then read by an app that displays it on the smartphone's screen, large enough and back to front. The smartphone rests on a ledge on its back, facing upwards. This is then reflected by a tilted piece of flat transparent reflective material and you can read it - see the last photograph. Meanwhile, through the back of the teleprompter pokes your camera - this can be another mobile phone or it can be a proper camera - and it looks through the tilted reflective material that you are reading the text in, thus giving the impression that you have somehow managed to remember the text. The teleprompter is designed to fit on a tripod using a quarter inch BSW fitting and opens out in literally a second or two. On the back, you can mount a holder for a mobile phone, putting it on one side or the other. Alternatively, you can mount a proper camera to look through the hole that the phone camera would look through instead although this would take another tripod or a special fitting. The remote for the smartphone allows you to move the text on so that you have fresh text to read. In all, this is a nice little teleprompter although it is perhaps on the small side for some applications - you need to be as far away from the camera as your audience is from the screen that they are viewing otherwise the perspective will be noticeably wrong. For your viewers watching you on televisions, you need to be around two metres from the camera (the distance between the TV in the corner of the room and the sofa where they are sitting) and for laptops and desktops, this needs to be around one metre. You need to know that you can read the text on the prompter phone's screen at that distance.

Talk that to the bank.
- Review for Portable Mini Teleprompter for Smartphone, LENSGO TC7S Mobile Phone Teleprompter Compatible with iOS & Android System for Online Teaching Vlog Live Streaming Interview, Fold in One Sec || Price: £48.99 (at time of ordering) - This is not a bad device; it's pretty easy to use once you get the hang of it and I must say, it is extremely helpful. I'm no influencer and never will be, but I do a lot of virtual presentations for work and this has really escalated my performance. I don't necessarily follow a script, but it's extremely useful having my key talking points in front of me at the right time, without having to flick through notes. It comes across far more polished and prepared. To use, you'll need to download an app and upload a text file. Your phone sits flat on the bottom of the prompter and the app is reflected into a one-way mirror, where you can read it. The camera lens points through from the other side of the mirror, so you appear to be looking directly at it while speaking (when in fact you are reading). It does require a second phone if that's how you plan to record. You can use it with other/proper cameras, but you'll need to figure out the fittings as these aren't included. I managed to get it working with my webcam, but it wasn't exactly easy. I also had to tweak my setup and lighting a bit to prevent my phones reflection getting caught by the camera lens. To be honest, I expected this to be an actual electronic device with a screen, that you connect to your phone via bluetooth to display the text. That would free up your phone for recording, and to me justify the cost. It works just as well I guess, but it seems very expensive for what's essentially just an app plus a few bits of plastic with a one-way mirror. I don't know much about these things though, so maybe that's normal! It takes a little configuration, but works well and is easy to use. A great way of improving your confidence and performance in both live and/or pre-recorded videos. Recommended.

Lovely little device but reflections make it unusable
I really want to love this teleprompter. In particular it feels sturdy and I love the way it packs away so small. Others I’ve tried feel fragile, like glass boxes. This one is compact and perfect for my needs. However, after playing with it for an hour and getting everything set up, when I tried recording there is a reflection of my camera Len’s on the glass which I cannot overcome. I’ve tried tape. Perhaps because my iPhone is white, you can clearly see the Len’s on the recording. It’s such a shame as I would like to have continued using this but have to send it back and revert to my app teleprompter instead.

Very bad packaging
I received this item in its package without any extra protection. When I opened it, I found that the glass was broken. I returned it the same day. But... the glass is very thin. Not reliable for good work.

Not great - no lens adaptors
I assumed this would come with lens adapters (like the others), but it doesn't. It is very much for use with one phone to record and one phone for display. I had thought the flap hanging down could be made horizontal to support a 7inch computer monitor. But, nope. So, not really worth the money. Only usable in a two-phone setup. It's also simultaneously made out of the cheapest plastic yet is rather heavy (must be the mirror).
