Yes, the DVR supports MP4 and H.264

Q: Is there an sd card with this product or do I need to buy one separately?

I don't recall. I purchased a higher capacity card as a matter of course.

Q: Will the camera record a whole journey if required? I want to use this to capture videos on a road trip. Thanks

It can, but the camera records in segments from 1 to 10 minutes so when the memory card is full, it deletes the oldest segment. You can then link all the files in video editing software. Audio is also just background as no external mic can be fitted . The camera is designed to record incidents rather than trips, for full video a Drift X would be more suited.

Format card on computer then again on the camera by pressing memory twice you will see format
