Keep the deer ticks away
I bought a pair last spring, when the only color available was black. They worked great, although I did find that treating my boots with permethrin help keep any deer ticks from navigating between the boot and the gaiter. After some time, the velcro doesn't meet perfectly anymore, but there is plenty of velcro area and it still holds well, I just have to turn the seam toward the back of my leg so it doesn't rub or catch. They have also developed a fuzzy look as I have worn them a lot in heavy cover. The black color is hot if you are in the sun and they material is thick enough that they are a bit warm on a hot day, but I don't find that they change my overall comfort level. Compared to rubber boots, they are much cooler and more comfortable if conditions are warm and dry. I'm ordering a second pair in olive pair today.

After a spring and summer in WI woods— no ticks attached to me.. they work!
I have a forested acreage in northern Wisconsin where I do a lot of wood & brush cutting and land maintenance in the spring and summer (spring is high tick season as we call it..lots of wood and deer ticks) I see plenty of high grass and weeds filled with ticks. Typically I spray with 40%+ DEET and hope for the best which is to minimize the number of ticks for the day of work. This year I received these Lymeez gaiters as a gift and I will say my buddy who owns the acreage next door thought I was nuts to not use any DEET but long story short, they worked great! Not a single tick attached to date, a couple that I noticed on the gaiters looked very confused and obviously didn’t want to be where they were. The material is comfortable, they look.. nice I guess — albeit a bit strange at first if you’re not familiar. Velcro worked and continues to work well. They say they can be washed without losing potency but I haven’t.Good quality item wouldn’t hesitate to buy again.

Nice Gaiters!
These leg gaiters are very comfortable, and easy to use. So far, I have found not a single tick after wearing them. My only (minor) complaint is that the velcro "hook" strip attaches directly to the outer material of the gaiter, making the closure light (unlike the standard velcro "hook & loop", which holds on for dear life), and is prone to loosening, especially if it is brushed against something while foraging. Still a great idea, and not uncomfortable in warm weather. Much easier to keep clean than traditional gaiters that have a strap which goes under the arch at the bottom of your footwear, and can get muddy very quickly.

Very effective
With so many ticks Around, I wouldn't even think of venturing into weeds or tallgrass without them

Tick fighters for anglers
These lightweight gaiters did a great job keeping summertime ticks off my body when hiking through tall weeds to the pond. The velcro straps make them easy to put on and take off. I really like them.

Needs Improvement - Not as good as it could be
I have been using this product for about 2 years. It does seem effective in keeping ticks from reaching my upper body, but it should be better made. For some reason, one side of each gator, the side without Velcro, is about 2 inches longer than the side with velco. I do not know why and its extra width is something of the problem in that it can catch on things and pull the gator open. The Velcro needs to be wider and more substantial. It can be challenging to get a good seal with it and if something catches the gator, it pulls open too easily. For the cost of these gators, they should be able to provide wider and better sealing Velcro. It would also help for the length and width of the gator to be increased or for them to offer a larger sized gator for those of us with larger and longer calves. Longer is also better because these gators should cover most of the area from heel to knee to provide maximum protection.I have had them fall off, so I also purchased straps with Velcro on them to use over the gator to better hold them on.I do feel that wearing the gaiters has helped to reduce my tick exposure, so I recommend them with the above concerns about them.I hope the manufacturer follows these reviews and responds to them by making suggested improvements. If my suggested improvements are made, I will buy another pair and I would then strongly recommend this product to everyone I know. Without my suggested improvements, I will look for alternative products.

Tick-free confidence
These Tick Gators were recommended by a friend, after I mentioned how the deer think my front yard is their cafeteria! And I was concerned about getting ticks when I mow my lawn. So far, so good! No ticks on me! I also haven't found any on the gators. I continue to use bug spray before I put on the gators, just in case. The gators take a little stretching and pulling to get them snug against my legs, but once I got the hand of it, they fit well.

Work great but easy to lose.
If you work in thick shrubbery like I do, don't depend on the Velcro to keep these in place. I lost one in thorn shrubs the first day. I ordered another pair, which a safety pin in place. They do work very well in deterring ticks and even seem to work to repel fire ants!
