26" 2-Door Live Animal Traps
Upon unpacking the trap, I was pleasantly delighted to see that it had a somewhat robust feel to it. The wire mesh is substantial and well-constructed, and the doors seem to be sturdy enough to hold even the most determined animals inside. It was quite easy to put together since it was already completed, which saved me a lot of time and effort. When it comes to efficacy, I've experienced a range of outcomes. Over the course of my first week of usage, I was able to successfully capture two raccoons as well as a squirrel that was extremely daring. The mechanism for the pedal trigger works as described; it is sensitive enough to be activated by tiny animals, but it is not so sensitive that it goes off with every gust of wind. I am grateful for this equilibrium since it reduces the number of false alerts. On the other hand, I did have a little problem with bigger raccoons. Keeping in mind that the trap has a size restriction is something that should be considered. Several times, I discovered that the bait had been removed, but there was no animal within the trap. I believe that these instances were caused by bigger raccoons that were unable to fit snugly inside the trap.

Easy to use, easy to release
Between this trap and the dog, we've been able to clear out most of the ground squirrels from under our art studio (it has a cement slab under which they were burrowing - don't blame them really - nice and dry under there!) So, I put it together after it arrived, that was easy enough. The instructions were very clear. It's heavy enough that when placed on the ground in front of a potential, it won't move around and such. The size is perfect for squirrels. Not sure so much it would hold a racoon! I caught a squirrel on the first try - and went and released it a couple of miles away by a creek and some nut and maple trees. Over the next few weeks, I caught five more and released them into the same creek area. I had to lift the "populated" cage into the car, easy enough, and at the release area, I found that the trap door is easy to open - no chance of getting bit - I had been kind of wary of that - but the carry handle, the door openers, and all seemed well placed and my fears of being bit quickly waned. I had never, ever, used one of these before, having lived in urban areas all my life, but now, living out in the country, I'm glad to have one!

Pretty good choice
System is pretty sensitive. Works well for us trapping squirrels stealing our avacados. Cage is shipped collaped. After purchase make sure to secure cage in built position. Accidentally released squirrel because cage came apart during transport.

Perfect for catching Grey Squirrels
This has been awesome for catching grey squirrels that have been pests in our yard. Have relocated 26 of them so far! I bait it by sticking half pieces of bread covered in peanut butter to the trigger, then putting more peanut butter on them & adding a couple milk duds. The squirrels can’t leave it alone! Helpful hints are that the trigger has a nut to adjust how easily it moves on one side. On the other the set bar can be moved back & forth slightly & how much the bar contacts the trigger bar also affects sensitivity. Whitetail Deer setting it off trying to get the bait has been the only problem. The solution is to set trap only during the day. Squirrels are not active at night & the deer only bothered my traps at night.

Closes on own too sensitive don't catch anything
Don't stay open we'll false closings, animal goes in eats food but catches nothing

Solitary animals only
Would work for trapping solitary animals. Not kittens. Comes down hard and since both sides have to be open to work could injure another if one set it off

Great trap! assembly was super easy.
This was well worth the money! Very easy to assemble, took about 10 minutes by myself. It worked flawlessly to catch stray cats around my home. The release process was super easy as well as I was able to keep the end I was opening pointed away from me. I would very much recommend this trap!

Poor quality
I had a rat trapped and released itself and opossum (photo above) released itself. Hooks are flimsy, instead need a quality wire to tighten sides.
