One of the absolute BEST Art of books!
One of me and my husband's favorite shows! We pooled over this one lazy afternoon and still haven't finished looking through but it has been one of the best Art of books we have and we have a lot! This one is well compiled and so fun to go through! If you are a fan we highly recommend it!

Art of Amphibia Review
When reading a Making-Of book, there are some things I take into consideration. First, I ask whether the art featured is of high quality and presented well. Second, I wonder how much art is really in the book: some 'art' books about show production don't contain nearly enough art. Third, I consider the writing, which ideally details the show's production in an insightful and well constructed manner. The art featured here is wonderful. All of the backgrounds are vibrant and inviting. Character models and storyboards look good. The spreads are well designed. It would have been nice if we had gotten more than a single page per episode. There were some exceptions, but the general formula seemed to showcase one page for every segment. I think even just one page more would have made a big difference. Now onto the writing. There isn't a large amount of text in this book. Each section starts off with 3-5 text heavy pages before diving into the art. Sometimes there will be a page or two about a character. Every episode page contains quotes from crew members relaying their feelings about an episode, design, or behind the scenes moment. I actually kind of liked this. What didn't really click for me was the author's writing. It felt informal, and some of the sentences ran on for too long. I also wish there had been more writing from Matt Braly himself.Making-Of books are a tough road to walk. Too many words and too little art can make the experience drag, and a lot of art with practically no words can leave readers feeling as if they didn't learn much of anything. Two of the best Making-Of books I've ever read were The Art of Invader Zim, and The Art of Avatar: The Last Airbender. They both manage to walk the line between letting the words and the art tell the story in equal measure, resulting in books that were satisfying as both a production story and an art showcase.Overall, I would recommend this for die-hard fans of Amphibia. It was a decent read. I think it could have benefited from being longer, having more writing/thorough editing, and maybe being a larger sized book.
