Real Avid Armorer's Master Hammer & Accu-Punch 11-Piece Pin Punch Set - 20 Ounce 9.5" Hammer W/ Soft Blow Hammer Head, Steel, Rubber & Brass Head

I own and use about a dozen Gunsmithing and other specialized hammers of various shapes and sizes. This is my all-time favorite hammer which I use most frequently! It's the coolest looking hammer in my "collection" plus it's extremely well built, versatile and perfectly balanced in regards to weight, shape and size. It's on the expensive side but it's definitely worth the money! The only thing I would change is that I should have bought this hammer before the others.

I got this exclusively for replacing a gas block on my rifle, and I feel like it saved my life. One of my better investments. The punches worked awesome. The hammer is great. I really like Real Avid gear.

Awesome gunsmith hammer!! The size is perfect!!

I love this set. I bought a second set for home after using the first set at work. The punches are a just a little bit soft and bendy, but that is a complaint I have with lots of non-premium punches - I have a bad habit of hold the hammer at just a very slight angle that I just can’t break. That has a tendency to bend punches if I have to get a little aggressive. I did break one of the plastic soft blow heads, but I 3D printed another using some slightly stiff TPU and it is an upgrade. Again not hammer’s fault. I dropped the hammer without the plastic hammer head screwed on all the way. I love this hammer set.

This is an awesome set. Buy this with your first firearm and you won't be tempted to attempt repairs with the wrong tool!

Great product and quality material

I actually paid for this unlike 90% of the reviews from 'Vine - free product' "buyers". I'm a former carpenter and this is nicer than anything I ever swung in the field, though for a different purpose. The weight on this is perfect. Nicely balanced, feels the same using either end of the hammer head. I would like to see Real Avid offer replacement screw-on heads for this as a product, but they do have a 'replacement parts' page with a contact form on their website where I would imagine they may be able to help. Its possible these are standard thread sizes, it would be nice to be able to replace the brass head in particular every so often as it really eats the impacts. Overall, this is a precision tool and worth every penny. Feels built to last a lifetime.
