This thing is beautiful but HUGE!!!
Omg this thing is humongous! The screen looks amazing and the curve in envelopes you. This monitor paired with my Tobii eye and head tracker are an amazing pair in my opinion a better option than VR once you get it tuned into your play style. The base is heavier than the monitor so it is extremely stable and won’t be going anywhere when you might bump into it or anything. All around great the hight adjustment is extremely smooth but it is a little difficult to get it to stay exactly where you want it without resetting it and trying to get the exact spot again. The refresh rate and response time are top tier as well so very little flickering and stuttering if at all. I got it on sale for $800ish and I feel like I stole it at that price. All around 5 stars!

Acer Nitro 5 Laptop and LG 34 OLED curved Monitor do not play well together
The reason for this 1 star is the frustration this OLED monitor caused me yesterday. I bought this LG 34-inch Ultragear OLED Curved Gaming Monitor for my daughter's birthday. She has an Acer Nitro 5 laptop with Windows 11. It has a NVIDIA GeForce RTX 3050 Ti GPU with one HDMI port. She was using another LG 27 UltraGear Gaming Monitor with this Acer laptop. It was working fine! But she was able to convince me she needed an OLED one : ) My problem is this new LG OLED monitor does NOT work with her Acer Nitro 5 laptop. It has been a puzzle for me why it doesn't work. Believe me, I have tried everything I could think of. Here are the facts: 1- This new LG OLED monitor (same HDMI cable) works with another Acer laptop but with Win 10 and older NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1660 Ti video card 2- This new LG OLED monitor (same HDMI cable) works with a third Acer laptop with Win 11 and integrated graphics card (Intel) 3- As I said earlier my daughter's Nitro 5 works with a LG 27 monitor (non OLED) using the same HDMI cable that comes with LG 34 OLED 4- I have reinstalled Win 11 in the Nitro 5 and the same thing: LG 27 works but new LG 34 OLED does NOT work. By work I mean Win 11 would not even recognize the monitor is connected through HDMI cable 5- I have updated NVIDIA driver to latest version and still no luck What puzzles me is both devices are working in my opinion (Nitro 5 and LG 34) but they do not play well together. I even connected the Nitro 5 laptop with our TV and it works as soon as I plug the HDMI cable. And this LG 34 monitor also easily works with other laptops w/o any extra step. Just plug and play! I have contacted LG customer support and they responded to me right away, but they were also not able to help me with this problem. Still not sure if I will return or not because my daughter loved the white color of this monitor.

My all-time favorite monitor!
These are the greatest monitors. I have 2 of them, and the graphics are fantastic! Super fast and works great with games or streaming. No matter what you do, it works great. I have two of them, and the brightness is excellent for doing my work. I also have the higher-end monitor. It is great for games, but sucks for productivity. It does not get bright enough.

Fantastic Gaming Monitor! Very Meh Working/Productivity Monitor
Pros - Large size - Top notch image quality and colors of OLED making it suitable to some design/editing work! (Comes with calibration software too!) (Just don't expect text to be clear at this size/resolution/subpixel structure) - 240Hz refresh rate is fast enough to stay relevant gaming for several years to come - Crazy low response time/input lag - Aggressive curve let's your eyes see to all 4 corners easier (A must for most people at these sizes) - Size and curve gives excellent immersion while gaming! - USB ports are nice - Thin bezels and sexy design - Nice adjustable stand allows for good viewing angles - Since it's LG (King of WOLED panels), I trust it not to get burn-in anytime soon - Plenty of input ports - Resolution good enough for some general use (especially if you're coming from 1080p or 1920x1200) - Well-packaged and protected (I was so scared of it coming damaged, and the box certainly was, but it was in perfect condition) - Comes with high quality cables (nVidia) - Anti-glare coating reduces glare..ish Cons (I knew all these going in and didn't have any surprises) - Resolution (3440x1440) is not something to write home about and keeps things kind of insultingly big when scaled at 100% especially if you're used to 4k. Wish it were at least 5120x1440 for daily usability/work, but less pixels is easier for my laptop 3080 GPU to push higher quality game visuals and that's what I really got this for - WOLED subpixel structure and the resolution means that text clarity is just Ok (With Microsoft ClearType) (but terrible for text design and extensive text usage<just preview on a different monitor though, NBD>) - Expensive, but you already know that, and the market is what it is (I bought on Prime days 10-13-24 for ate twen tea forr) - Stand could have better viewing angles (I'd prefer to have this on a stand and be able to tilt it downward more, but I could buy an adjustable arm to put it on) - Some people may want it to include a KVM, but I'm fine without since it's just for my gaming rig - One button on bottom back of monitor a bit awkward to use (wish it had a remote!) - Annoying things that are just part of having an OLED monitor like having to let it run through it's 2 hour "OLED Image Cleaning" cycle, having to use more aggressive screensaver/sleep/shutdown settings to prevent burn-in, etc. - Lack of Dolby Vision that all LG OLED TVs come with (that would be nice for some games!) - Anti-glare coating is liked by some, but it does rob you of some of OLED's image quality lifting blacks a bit (Unfortunately, if you go with an LG OLED TV it'll have the beautiful glossy screen, higher 4K resolution <Not ultra-wide aspect ratio>, much taller depending on size, and no curve to help view the edges and make a much more immersive experience!)

Pretty nice with correct settings
Really nice once you get it set up right. I had to play with the settings for awhile because it didn't look all that great out of the box. Once I turned on hdr and ran the windows hdr calibration test patterns and set saturation to 40 it really started to pop. Idk exactly why but selecting the hdr profile in windows display settings made it way brighter or maybe it was when i clicked reset settings in the monitor osd but some combination of these things made the monitor look way better almost on accident. It's almost like it downloaded an update or something but I know it can't do that without connecting the usb if I'm not mistaken. Anyways if it's a bit underwhelming at first make sure to get your settings right because it made a huge difference for me. Only drawback was the price of 850 bucks when lg was selling it for 600 and amazon couldn't match but I understand. Overall really nice for bf6 and color/picture quality IMO but this is coming from a 6 year old lcd so I can't judge vs other oleds. The liquid motion in games almost feels like cheating if you can get 200+ fps with your video card. 11/19/25 follow up. Loving the monitor. Plenty bright and colorful. I can't under state the importance of hdr calibration and settings. If you get it right games are so beautiful. I wasn't aware brightness had been a problem in the past with oleds and I guess I never will because this lacks nothing. It's a trip playing bf6 and turning towards the sun feeling like you need to shield your eyes. Ok not quite but it's a cool effect. No regrets.

Love it
Love the monitor, perfect colors after some calibration, it pairs well with my first gen 27GR95QE-B LG UltraGear oled. Package showed up in perfect order, no damage, instantly did dead pixel tests and gray band test (very minimal) and it was great. I've put almost 1000hrs on the 27" (I know, not much in terms of gaming) with static elements since I play rpgs mostly, no image retention, burn in or anything so my expectations are high that this monitor can do the same. I will update when I've put more hours on it. I usually base my monitor and tv purchases based off of rtings reviews however, this one hasn't been tested by them yet to my knowledge so I blindly bought it and so far, not disappointed.

You will not regret!!!
This is an amazing monitor. Seriously. Upgraded from a hp27q which also is a great 1440 165hz ips display. But the hdr, the contrast , the pure blacks, the amazing responsive of the oleds. Its just beutiful. One gripe woth this monitor is that it has vrr flicker, which means brightness fluctuates when u have variable refresh rate enabled (freesync/gsync). I recommend turning it off in the osd, and run it locked at the sweeeeet 280hz. Hdr also amazing , but normal sdr just as good. This screen has a matte coating so it doesnt reflect lighting to you like glossy screens would. This matte coating is different, it looks quite glossy, like a mix, seriosly the coating is something i havent even considered. Its perfect coating from lg, if u have any extra light in ur room, get this monitor. I wish the hexagon lighting back of the panel could be dynamic and mimic what's going on the monitor but it is what it is. The back lighting honestly helps brighten the desk just enough that I dont have to use a external monitor light. I would wait for this monitor on sale around 500 usd or under to buy this.
