This is great in the tool box. Strong case and great for quick testing of the odd replacement cable runs. Obviously it’s not suitable for full post testing of a CU change etc, but it doesn’t claim to do that. I really like this and would recommend it for functionality and price.

Used in my business to test heating elements its well made and reliable with various voltage test limits, this represents excellent value for money.

I have used some meggers before so comparing with similar unit. This one as soon as you take measurement, it makes crackling noise. It is bit concerning as it sounds like something is not very well made/insulated inside. It works okay, just concerning when you are sending 500V from the crackling box... It just makes you not wanting to touch it.

Meter is compact, leads are good quality, you must understand testing procedures to use. Good value for money, instructions are good and a free mains voltage indicator screwdriver Time will tell how robust it is.

Received before estimated day and well packaged. My impression of the instrument is all good. The accuracy of all parameters was well within limits and actually quite impressive: 500v output was 506v and 1000v - 1023v. 1.0m ohm leakage was 998 k ohm. All measured with a currently specified Fluke multimeter. In all a very good, accurate instrument.

I bought this is pinpoint a fault in an outdoor circuit, which it did perfectly. It has selectable voltages from 100 to 1000V (500V worked for me in this case). It works off AA batteries, with a latching button to start the meggar test. As others have said, the leads and crocodile clips are of good quality with a secure screw in connection - worth the extra few quid over cheaper models when dealing with these kinds f voltages. Note, that the latching button can easily be switched on my accident - so prior to switching the unit on, it is important to check that the button is out. The test leads are around a metre long, which may be too short if connecting to wiring at a, say, a light switch if you want to place the tester on the ground. These are my only gripes, and are not too significant.

Hallo, in dieser Rezension beschreibe ich nicht die Funktionsweise des Geräts, das kann man sich bei Interesse ganz gut ergoogeln. Was ich aber hier schreiben kann ist, daß uns dieses Gerät einen Elektriker und die wahrscheinlich sehr hohen Kosten für diesen gespart hat. Ich bin kein Elkektriker aber sogar irgendwie stolz darauf, ich habe mir meine Kenntnisse soweit selbst beigebracht, teilweise mit Hilfe eines befreundeten Elektrikers. Wenn man weiß was man tut muß man kein Elektriker sein um mit diesem Gerät erfolgreich arbeiten zu können. In unserem alten Fachwerkhaus gab es ein merkwürdiges Problem mit einem Zimmer in dem immer mal wieder mal der Strom sehr kurzzeitig ausgefallen ist, manchmal über mehrere Tage gar nicht dann wieder mehrfach am Tag. Ein Elektriker sagte mir man könne am Besten eine neue Zueitung samt aller notwendigen Nebenarbeiten zu dem Zimmer ziehen, und das ohne überhaupt zu wissen wo der Fehler liegt. Hätte ich ihn das machen lassen wäre der Fehler immer noch dagewesen und sehr viel Geld unnütz ausgegeben worden. Mit diesem Gerät nun habe ich den Fehler eingrenzen können und die versteckte Unterputzdose in der, der Defekt vorlag finden können. Dort habe ich dann die fehlerhaften verschmorten und einen Kurzschluß, Stromausfall auslösenden Kabel ausgeschnitten und erneuert. Seitdem ist Ruhe und wir haben viel Geld gespart, ein Elektriker hätte sicher für die Behebung des Fehlers wenn er diesen denn gefunden hätte um die 1000€ haben wollen, vielleicht hätte er bei der Reparatur sogar neue Fehler wieder eigebaut. Am Ende meine Empfehlung und 5 Sterne ür dieses Gerät das wirklich einwandfrei und einfach funktioniert.
