I'm impressed.
You never really know what to expect with these tech devices. I'm happy to say that this one works as advertised. I tested it with a twenty year old Western Digital Caviar 3.5" IDE hard drive that's been sitting in the attic for years, and it worked straight out of the box with no issues at all. This is great news, because I've accumulated about a dozen old hard drives over the years. I have no recollection of what could be on any of them, so this device will serve a much needed purpose for me. The device comes with everything you need. There's the hard drive dock, the power supply, a four pin power connector for 3.5" IDE drives, and a UBC cable. I like that there's an indicator light and a power switch. You don't even need to look at the directions. It's that easy. Two thumbs up!

Simple to use
It's very easy to use though I dislike that it has a short power cable and a short cable to attach to your PC. Because it needs both plugged in to work you are very limited by the cables and depending on your setup it can be difficult to use.

So awesome! I was able to recover my SSD when my computer went kaput.
I was so happy to find this. My computer got wet from a roof leak and I suddenly couldn't turn it on and had all my files on the desktop. This saved my bacon! You need to know where your drive is and how to remove it to use this. As long as you do, or you kind of have nothing to lose and are willing to learn, this will be a boon.It came with multiple adapters and a power supply. The multiple adapters is obvious, but I tried different adapters that just plugged straight into the drive, without a power supply, and they worked for my SSD, but nothing for my HDDs, that apparently have to have that external power. I was so jazzed by this key, that I have a stack of dead drives that I couldn't bring myself to toss because they have irreplaceable things, but wasn't going to spend hundreds or thousands of dollars to recover. Holy Moses! I didn't realize how much weird weird stuff I had saved and almost lost. This little toy has made memory lane a 8 lane highway with mythical creatures on wheels. Awesome!
