this soundtrack is better than the original GW2 soundtrack
In my opinion, this soundtrack is better than the original GW2 soundtrack. There's a great diversity of themes, from the rousing Heart of Thorns theme, to the more relaxing "Tarir, the Forgotten City," and each one memorable. There are layers to the orchestration, which give each piece depth, adds interest, and makes it feel more like a movie soundtrack. The tracks themselves are well-organized and I've found it's a terrific collection to listen to while working or doing stuff around the house. In addition to the tracks I mentioned "Leaving Tarir" is a great piece, an homage to the original GW2 Overture that takes the tune and reworks it to be a quieter, subtler piece that still shines. I've added it to my mix of John Williams, James Horner and Hans Zimmer and the the HoT songs hold their own along with those composers.

Such A Great Soundtrack!
This soundtrack is excellent. I was always a fan of the older Jeremy Soule Guild Wars music, so when he left I was worried the music going forward wouldn't live up to the standard he set. However, the newer tracks from Maclaine and Lena definitely breathe some fresh air into the franchise. They add a range of new and exciting pieces, but manage to keep a lot of that Guild Wars personality intact.I would really prefer if this was offered in a FLAC or lossless audio format or even a CD instead of MP3...but for the time being this is what we have and despite that fact it's absolutely worth the purchase price (even if only to show support for the new composers and direction they took with the soundtrack!).

I'm a big fan of orchestral music and original soundtracks. This OST is probably one of my favorite due to the fact that it was recorded using a live orchestra. If you're a big fan of the game and of ArenaNet, you should definitely buy this. It will not disappoint.

I miss the... soul...
