Are these for the junior puppy?

I used these for my six-weeks old puppy. I put the heat pack inside of a Snuggle Puppy stuffed animal so that the heat pack was NOT directly in contact with my puppy. The heat pack worked very well inside of the stuffed animal. I used them every night until my puppy was about two months old. (This was during the winter.)

How are these any different than a hand warmer?

The warming packs are very similar. Technically I don’t know the difference. I’m not sure how warm the hand warmers are but these don’t get real hot. Because our puppy came home to us in January and was only about 7 weeks old. I used them for a few weeks in his comfort dog. Then I stopped using them, used just the dog with the little heartbeat mechanism for another month. Sparky whines for 15 minutes the first night and has not whined again. He now plays with the dog almost daily- it’s one of his favorite toys.

Hi can I put the heat packs in my dryer on high instead of a microwave oven? If so, for how long and what temperature setting would work best? Thanks!

Good afternoon Beth,Please do not put the disposable heat packs in your dryer. That would ruin your dryer. As for the renewable heat source, it is only recommended to microwave them and for no longer then 30 second intervals at a time. And the cloth bag provided has a draw string closure, so having that tumble in the dryer would open it and make a mess.How else may I help?Kelli M- Operations Manager

Can i use just the heartbeat?

Yes. You can use both or either/or. We got our puppy when it was still cool- cold at night and from the very first night, I used both. After almost three weeks, it was starting to get a little warmer and I quit using the heated packs. We used the heartbeat until our puppy figured out how to take the Velcro loose and get it out himself. Now he just has the dog. He only cried about 5 minutes the first night.
