I can't understand the negative comments, this is a very good novel in the Alex Cooper series, moving the relationship between Alex and Mike forward a little and introducing the fascinating world of theatre life. Linda Fairstein's books always offer an interesting glimpse at unusual areas of New York history and culture and this is no exception. She presents an array of extraordinary characters, particularly the inimitable Joe Berk. As usual Alex juggles other cases and her personal life with the main event and it all adds up to a satisfying read.
