Review: Usual brilliant Spider Shepherd novel. - Slow build up of a good story involving Spider Shepherd and his friends. Worth the time to read it. Will read more of these books. Review: Gung Ho Hero. - Spider Shepherd is a super soldier . A golden boy hero who's team is nearly as fantastic as he is. Totally unbelievable gung ho nonsense but....it's wonderful escapism. It's fiction for gods sake, it's not supposed to be real. Just fun. Enjoy as Spider and his team slay all the bad guys and slap each other on the back afterwards.

Relentless excitement
Well, take a deep breath and lock yourself away somewhere quiet, because this book is an adrenaline rush. A solid length adventure with a younger Spider Shepherd during his SAS time. We start off with Spider’s team showing a few examples of their talents (both in warfare and in getting into trouble) and then they find themselves in the wrong place at the right time to help resolve a terrorist incident in Greece. Things snowball as they realise a long term plan is coming together and from an e-mail unexpected source. As the team follow the leads and action from country to country things come to a head in a violent and surprising way. Of course it is very good, it’s Spider Shepherd and Stephen Leather, what else did you expect? The style is slightly different from the full length Shepherd books, this is all about pace and action with the team not just fighting bad guys, but also military and political bureaucracy and more than a few hidden agendas. Great stuff. As always.

Moving Targets
Not one of leathers best books. A bit slow and it felt as if parts were passing as opposed to part of the story. Struggled to finish it but did.

Typical SpiderShepheard action story
Whilst moving quickly across the world the story is kept topical ,and possibly a large part is believable in the current political climate

Great story. Couldn't put it down! Loved the camaraderie and efficiency of the SAS squad. Stirling, the original SAS leader in WWII, would have been proud of them.

Love Stephen Leather. Good plot and plenty of action and intrigue. Great read as usual.

I’ve enjoyed Stephen Leather books especially Spider Shepherd. Moving Targets started with promise but sadly became simplistic and disjointed. I wonder if this book is a collection of notes edited and strung together to make a story. Mr Leather has written some excellent novels, this is not one of them.
