This is a great set for those of us that groom our own dogs. Be warned, though they are sharp. The first time I used them I kept seeing blood on my dog and it was panicked because I thought I cut him. Turns out I had cut myself and they were so sharp. I didn’t even feel it. So be warned they are sharp so be careful not with you just your dog but yourself as well. I like the fact that not only are they sharp but they have held up well and I like that. I have a straight scissor as well as a curved scissor and the two different thinning scissors. Highly recommend they are well worth the money even though they’re not that expensive.

As A professional all-breed dog groomer of a great many years, I have bought shears in the $300 - $400 range for a single pair. I purchased this set for the chunker thinners to use on matted ears in an attempt to save as much coat as possible. I was pleasantly surprised at how well they work for that purpose. They have stayed sharp so far. The other shears in this set are pretty decent, too. Whether you groom your own pets at home or have a salon, these should have a place in your groom room.

Why did you pick this product vs others?: I have been grooming four 15lb doodles at home for over 20 years and needed some new scissors. After reading reviews I chose these because of the price point. They are very sharp (I cut my finger on one) and work very well.

I like that the set has both thinners and chunkers. I am learning to groom my doodle at home and wanted to try these to give him a neater look. These scissors are not the sharpest but a good place to start before investing in the more expensive professional scissors. The thinners worked well on my own hair but not sure they will make it through my dog’s thick coat. The chunkers are nice. They seem to pull on the hair but this may be my poor technique. The straight scissors are acceptable and cut well at the end but I was hoping for a sharper set of scissors. The finger holes are too small for the thumb so they are not the most comfortable to hold. You can remove the inserts which will make the holes slightly bigger which I will have to do. The presentation is lovely with beautiful looking scissors and case. May be good for a gift for someone grooming their dog at home.

These scissors have been a godsend! I can now get a great cut on my Pomeranians. Shaping with the curved scissors is a dream!

Read all the reviews and although I agree the eyes of the scissors are slightly small, I don’t have a problem as I have slim fingers. Good quality product for the price and very sharp. Overall…..very pleased
