Louisville Bedding Company Cotton Top King Mattress Pad

I purchased this mattress pad about 3 weeks ago based on the very good reviews on this website. Even though there were no reviews which talked about how much padding this particular pad actually provided, I decided to take a chance.Let me start by saying that I agree that this pad fits very well over our current mattress (in fact, our mattress apparently was quite thin, so adding the pad on top helped our sheets fit a bit better) and the material it is made of seems like it would hold up pretty well in the washing machine.Unfortunately, this pad is not very thick. In fact, I would argue that it's very hard to tell the difference when this pad is attached to the mattress.Overall, for the price, it's not horrible. But if you are buying a pad looking for a boost in comfort, I would recommend that you look a little more, or at least try to find this product in a retail store so you can see what I mean for yourself.

I bought this pad because of some unfavorable reviews from others about how thin the pad is . . . which is exactly what I was looking for. We spent a fortune on a high end mattress which offers specific, "feel" benefits. The last thing I wanted was a tufted, thick mattress pad to mask the feel of the mattress. To that end this mattress pad is PERFECT and very comfortable. It's cool to the body. But it was a challenge to install as it's not quite queen size. I didn't measure it - should have - but it really was a struggle to get all 4 corners finally and quasi-properly tucked. The feet end of the pad is tucked correctly while the head end of the pad is quite stretched and I was able to barely secure it. Nevertheless, it is very comfortable but my guess is after one washing and unavoidable shrinking I will have to install another pad.Let the shopping begin. Again.

Intelligence test? Or just a design flaw? Took over half an hour and a lot of sweat and cursing to get this mattress pad to stay put on my bed. Getting it to stay in one corner while I tried to secure another was absolutely maddening, because as soon as I got to the other side, the first side would slip out. Maybe I was foolish to try to do it all by myself. It is obviously a two-man job. But it shouldn't have to be! Eventually, my stubborness won out (I AM smarter than the mattress pad, right?), and I got it secured enough to follow up with a fitted sheet. It's only the first night, so we'll see if the rascal stays put. It may be fine in the long run after this first night in its new environment. Maybe it will like it's new home and relax. Maybe I'm just too emotional after my ordeal tonight. It just might be okay...until I have to take it off to wash it, and start the whole process over again. Hopefully it will be fine...we'll see.

I expected fabric along the sides of the pad...the pad is comfortable and nice to sleep on, but the sides that come off the top and to the bottom, is NOT fabric and one must be very careful when putting it on and off the mattress, especially after washing as it is inclined to rip...it's almost like lace, a tug too firmly done or a long fingernail can easily rip it. Yes, it stretches...but I can see having to sew the top to an old fitted sheet in the not too distant future in order to keep using it. But, the price was good...and to be honest...I should have expected that I would get exactly what i paid for. But, it does what I need it to do for now.

I bought the twin for my daughter's new mattress set. The #1 reason I bought it was because it has the elastic bands all the way around, so it fits the sides of the mattress better. It holds snug. I am happy with the product. I bought a better pad for my bed, but it's good enough for a child's bed. I've washed it quite a bit and it's held up pretty well. It did shrink a bit, but I wanted it to because then it fits the bed better. It is not waterproof, but I didn't want that at all. Good product. Just put another one in my cart for my son, who just went into a twin bed.

I bought this pad to keep my other sheets under control. It does this to an extent but my bed is 15 inches thick. this just barely makes it under and when I lay on my bed, it comes undone. it would be good for a thinner bed of about 12 inches, but 15 is too much. adds another level of cusion to my bed and the bands (I don't know what they are called right now, just woke up. the little things that go around the bed to keep it from coming undone around the skirt) are strong and I believe they would keep it on if I had enough room.

I was looking for a mattress pad that would stay in place, and this one did just that. So many others I've had don't stay put. Not a problem with this one.But after a few washes, the elastic sides become very brittle and tear extremely easily. They are made with a very flimsy fabric that, after about a half-dozen washes starts to feel - and act - like paper. I bought two of them a few years ago and the one on my guest room bed is still there as it doesn't get much use. But the one in the master bedroom lasted less than a year with regular washing.

I bought this despite some of the negative reviews, and I find that it works well and fits my king size mattress with no problems. I also washed it with warm water (in a front loader) and dryed it in the dryer on medium heat and it seemed to come out fine-- no pilling or snagging or anything.I think that the other reviewers must have been trying to fit this on a really thick mattress, or tugged too hard. In my eyes, it works well, fits well, and it was a great price. As a reference, my mattress is an eastern king, memory foam mattress, 12" thick.
