A great little rucksack for a day walk.
A lovely little rucksack for a day out walking. It's light to carry yet because of the canvas material that it is made from, I would imagine that it will be hardwearing. It is well stitched all over and as with my previous rucksack very easy to sow up if it get damaged. It is spacious enough inside to fit my camera and a spare lens, plus a water bottle, some bits of food, a baseball cap, sunglasses and a pack-a-jacket incase it rains (this is England!! haha). A few other essential bits and bobs like suncream, plasters, medi wipes, also all fit nicely in the long front zip-up pocket. If I have one slight gripe about it, it would be that the two side pockets and the 'hidden' back pocket are smaller than expected. In the picture it shows someone walking with a water bottle in a side pocket but on mine it is too tight to get a bottle in. Instead I have put my firesteel and fire kit in one and my Leatherman Multi-tool in the other. The rear pocket is empty at the moment. I tried keys in it but because it was against my back this proved too uncomfortable. It is only suited for something small and soft like a handy pack of tissues etc. I'm sure I will find a use for it.Also it is not a complaint but I would like to point out that I ordered a Brown bag, however the rucksack that I received is clearly labelled Green although, in daylight, it is a very cool darkish khaki. In summary I am very happy with my rucksack, it was just about the right price and despite the small side pockets ticks all the boxes . We have been on a couple of adventures together already and it performed very well.

Great bag, on the small side, but does the job. Is not waterproof
I got this bag because my 20 year old jansport finally kicked the bucket and I spent weeks shopping for replacement(s). I say replacements because I'm at drama school and what I need to take with me varies wildly from day to day, so I have a giant 45L bag with waist straps for days when I need to carry a lot of stuff like for dance classes and this one for normal days. The thing that drove me nuts about all the other bags was that because I'm on the go a lot - I read my scripts and charge my phone on my commute, and i need quick access to umbrellas, hand sanitiser and door passes - the lack of outside pockets on most bags did my head in and then carting stuff around rehearsal rooms also drove me nuts having to piss around with zips and my stuff just exploding all over the floor, this bag has so many benefits for me and makes my incredibly busy and active life much easlier. This how I have my bag set up and what I can fit in it:The side pockets are zippered and far too small to carry a water bottle. On one side, I have my charging brick, cable and plug, the other side is my umbrella. Front pocket I keep sanitiser, masks, tissues, train/building passes, cbd oil and eye drops. On the inside there is a padded back flap where you can store a laptop and it has an elasticated velcro strap to hold it in place. I've only carried a 14inch macbook pro in once and it was comfy enenough. I rarely use this pocket though I'm sure it'll come in handy in the future. In the main body of the bag there are two internal pockets. one is zippered, one is velcro closure and the 2 are small are sort of flappy pockets. I keep my pencil case and glasses in the velcro closure and don't really use the others for anything because the fabric is a bit more flimsy and anything bulky in the side just gets in the way for me. There's also a small zippered canvas flap at the top of the bag I keep my cork ball (myofascial release) and my bank card in, and I clip my keys to the zip with a carabiner. In the main compartment I fit a tall skinny 1l water bottle, a 600ml thermos mug, an 15 plastic zippy wallet with my notebook and scripts. Fitting a lunchbag in here is a bit of a struggle but it's doable. If I need to have character shoes with me that day I'll either carry the lunchbag in my hand with the shoes inside the bag if it's raining, or if it's dry I'll buckle my shoe straps to the buckles on the bag and look like a weirdo flapping down the street. I can usually also take my ultralight down coat and scarf off, drape them over the top of the bag and secure them down with the flap of the bag because even though they're magnetic clasps instead of actual buckles they're pretty strong and I don't worry about them popping open. The one major downside of this bag is that it is not even remotely waterproof. I sprayed it with tech wash and also rubbed a ton of barbour wax into the fabric and my stuff still got drenched, so I've had to buy a waterproof shell to put over it if it rains - because anything that falls on an umbrella just drips straight down and soaks the bag which isn't great when your charging brick is in there. The straps aren't very padded but they're comfy enough, the drawstring thingy is decent too. It's lasted a month of daily abuse and is in good nick so far, so no complaints.

Good value for money.
Great little rucksack for the money. Well put together and enough pockets to be useful. Zips seem ok. Only thing I’d change would be the magnetic clips for good old fashioned buckles.Good for day hike and general use. Will give it a waterproofing spray just to keep it good. Wouldn’t think it would last too long in a storm but would recommend it for a good, well priced bag.

A gift that went down well
A friend wanted a casual backpack and she was really pleased with this one. She liked the vintage look and colour, and says it's comfortable and robust so far. It's for day-to-day use, and is not used for a laptop, so she doesn't mind the lack of water-proofing and prefers the slightly smaller size (although some reviewers mention this is a potential problem). Based on feedback, I'd say this is a good product at a good price.
